Well, do you remember Steve lant taking over this pub? Well, the pub ended up being short lived, as Portsmouth Pubs, Ltd went bankrupt (I think) and has now permanently closed, suffered the same fate as the Neil Gwyne,

Very closed again when I walked past yesterday on my way to the Sir Loin of Beef.
Any patrons missing the Alma will probably have ended up in the Three Marines...

4 Real Ciders and 3 Real Ales and all well kept some from local brewers and Doombar always on tap.
some great live music and an amazing function room soon to be launched into Portsmouth's Newest Live Music Venue. Available for weddings, parties and wakes.they also cater for 18th and 21st Birthdays

went in yesterday, a lot nicer, not yet the best pub in town, but a huge improvement, beer very good

ignore previous posts, it has reopened and now has no political allegences, could be a good pub again, lets hope so

popped in for the first time in ages, I felt totally out of place, 1 I didn't have a shaved head, 2 I drink beer not strong lager, 3 I don't swear loudly when I go drinking, 4 I never use word's like .... well you get the idea, avoid if you've got brain cells

Been down this pub a few times my husband plays there sometimes with his band and I have always thought this pub is very friendly and its done up nice there is a smoking area outside. I would definatley recommend this pub x

The being done up bit is more a work in progress. Landlord has plans for how he wants the place to look and is getting there with minimal disturbance to the locals.
A good, basic, friendly pub. Serves the best pint of London Pride I know.
Good sized back garden area.
One the most comprehensive juke boxes I've every come across if you like music with your pint.

OK pub. Sometimes has live musice, toilets are located outside which adds to the chracter of the place.
