Best pub in town; good beer, atmosphere and music and deseverdly busy most nights of the week.

A comfortable and well-run pub with friendly and efficient staff. Real ales are generally from the Marston's empire; there is therefore on offer a good and everchanging range of beers from the company's numerous breweries. The one real ale (Patois) produced by Guernsey's Randall's brewery is also a frequent feature. All beers sampled on several visits during a week's holiday were in good condition.

The pub does not serve food, but does serve an eclectic selection of live music. Piped music is from the quality end of the spectrum.

Recommended.

A decent pub just a couple of minutes walk from the town centre. 5 well kept ales available - possibly the best selection on the island? Worth a visit, can also be combined with a visit next door!

Happened upon this lovely little boozer on the way to Victor Hugo's house which, incidentally, is mere minutes away. So, if you fancy mixing a bit of cultcha with a 5-strong selection of well-kept ales - as well as a chat with the very affable landlord and bar staff - then you really can't go far wrong.

The pub is located on the top of a steep hill. The small bar had a fine selection of 5 real ales, including Randalls Patois and Wychwood Beewyched. The lounge was small with an upper area which overlooked the main lounge. There was an Irish band playing when we were there so the pub was very busy. The staff are very friendly and it has a good atmosphere. Despite being out of the way it is a very popular pub and deservedly so.

The interior of this pub was decorated nicely and the atmosphere was fairly good apart from a noisy group sat at the bar. Sports were showing on the big screens. This is a good place for those wishing to sample real ales on Guernsey. They have 5 handpulls - Brakspear Bitter, Wychwood Hobgoblin & Wizard's Staff and Marston's Pedigree and The Lord Taverners Ale were on during our visit.

Looks good from the outside and even better inside with interesting artifacts
and bold decor. I fet really comfortable and relaxed with a pint of beer from a choice of 4 real ales.

This pub is a nice location and has a lovely friendly athmosphere. Music nights tuesday and thursdays are great. No under age in the premises but occasionally attracts young adults because of the variety of ales @ beer. Always hold spectacular new years eve events and great pub for the rugby games.

Good choice of ale's and local Rocquettes cider, but it is VERY cramped and last night had an infestation of ants last night :/

There licence for outside runs out at 9 o'clock so you are forced inside. Also, Tuesday nights tend to be full of under-agers. But the local music and open-mic is very good.

On the plus side, they do a VERY good assortment of genuine African Biltong, either in small backs pre-cut or large strips.

Very friendly staff, nice crowd of people and a pool table for a bit of entertainment, but be careful of the lip on the top left pocket!!

agree in the summer the midweek music livens the place up a lot, and the venue itself is quite good. But cant bring myslef to say i like it as much as the other reviews because there is still too much facial hair and leather patches on cardigan sleeve elbows for my liking. probably your old geography teacher drinks here. one of the best supported places to watch rugby too, with your jumper knotted around your shoulders and your boating shoes on.

Probably the closest pub to a student bar in Guernsey during the summer holiday. Live music on most nights of the week. The performance of Handel's 'Messiah' last Christmas was one of the best musical event I've ever seen in a pub! Good ales that rotate frequently. Pool table and outsde heated area for the smokers.

Love this pub, the open mic nights are the best!

The widest (and best) selection of draught beers that we found in St Peter Port (5 pumps). It is well worth the climb up the hill. Friendly and on-the-ball staff explained that brands are regularly rotated. Couldn't fault the range or condition when we were there (twice!).
