Village pub in a lovely setting on the green. Bombardier & Youngs on, both good. Cheap menu and good food. Very friendly staff. Big garden but not much shade in it so we sat inside on a baking hot day. Looks like the place has recently been refurbished / redecorated.

Wasn't originally going to use the pub whilst on a walk around Tatsfield (beautiful area served by London Bus 464 from New Addington - 30 min freq.). Found this to be a lively and decent place with good GK IPA and nice sandwiches. Will go back if in the area, which is likely.

Pleasant enough, but not spectacular. Perhaps worth a trip for a Sunday lunch, but not if you just want to drink. Youngs bitter and IPA were the ales available.

Slightly unremarkable. IPA was decent and service was fine but not remotely memorable.

If it changed its name to Old Shep I'd be back there straight away.

landlady was good, answering questions about the village and being helpful. Two real ales of IPA and Youngs were on, I had the IPA and a fine pint it was. Quiet on a late sat afternoon. Pub could do with a refurbishment to give it a cosier feel, which would then compliment its view over the village duck pond.

The landloard of this pub is an idiot! It's a country pub in the centre of a pretty village but he took exception at 20 sensible adult cyclists descending on a Bank Holiday Monday without "prior arrangement", even though it wasn't that busy. After serving about 15 of us he turned into Basil Fawlty and took all the menus away saying that he didn't serve food any more!!! He refused to listen to reason and it turned out that he had only booked one person to work in the kitchen, despite it being Bank Holiday. Have no idea what the food or drink is like because I was one of the ones he turned away. The nearby Botley Hill Farmhouse welcomed us with open arms and their food was top notch!
