A swift but well enjoyed pint of Brakspear bitter was enjoyed here. Would have liked to have stayed longer and try the others available.

Given the ample delights on offer in other towns and villages in the Oxford area, Islip is perhaps a little under served. This place has a reasonably friendly, local feel but rests on its laurels a little given its location in such a pleasant and historic village. Branded food items and dire tunes from the juke box were a problem (the latter is the fault of a punter and not the pub of course).

Went in last week with 2 children, landlord and barstaff were friendly and helpful. Good pint of Hookey bitter and great garden to keep the children ocupied. The food arrived promptly and was just what we wanted. Overall a good and child friendly boozer, we will be going back soon.

Not a bad bet, food pretty decent if not outstanding. Pool table and a theoretcical choice of ales, tho when we went we drank the last two pints of well kept 6X, and after that they'd run out so it was onto the Guiness. A shame as we might have stayed longer. Pool table and Sky footie matches shown.

OK. Two real ales on. Dogs allowed in public bar. Rather intrusive bigscreen TV with football on.
