Walked past this place today, it's turned into "Caff-Deli Amano".

In here last Saturday and very quiet, only two other customers.
Three unused hand pulls.
Nice and cosy but lacks the White Lion buz.

Nobody is saying that the food is bad in this pub, it is the sarcasm that goes with the meal !. And as for keeping the rowdy element out, thats a joke. I do agree it is very easy to get served a drink, ....mmm thats cos there no customers!! ....not everyone can be wrong.
It's a shame that the owners of this pub continue to employ arrogant, opinionated managers it used to be friendly local.

My partner and I use this pub regularly since the welsh people left. They were extremely unfriendly and both ourselves and friends stopped using the pub. We are bemused by some of the comments on here as we find the food excellent, real ale offering good and atmosphere extremely enjoyable since they left.
This does feel like the last pub in our village as everwhere seems to be becoming a gastro restaurant. The manager and his staff keep the rougher elements out of the pub with their drugs and boistrous behaviour.
You can also get served quickly here as in the main pub in the village you can wait forever to be served, and be surrounded by underage peopleand drugs which at weekends is intimidating for us. So we say welldone to the manager and staff at our local we love it, and let these detractors on here who are most likely the ones who are barred anyway go and stay somewhere else!

Well said warlinghamlocal...it is a nasty pub with its nasty rude and arrogant landlord. Check the sign outside 'The Last Proper Pub in Warlingham'...oh jeeze I wet meself laughing when i saw that lol. Thank god its not....this is one pub to definately miss unless you want to suffer abuse with your expensive pint!

this week i popped in on way home from work for a quick drink. The atmosphere consisted of the disgraceful language from the landlord (using c word every second word) whilst his attitude was to abuse the customers, brash, arrogant and the consistent woman bashing coupled with the worse for wear customers that should have long left the pub made for a nasty pub that I would never step foot in again,

Very disappointed, went to this pub a couple of weeks ago on a Saturday night with the wife, unfortunately two of the locals where the worse for wear, kissing each other and falling over, when ordering my drinks one of them tried to cuddle me, not what I expect from a so called over 40s pub.

At last, the pub is getting back to what an Adult Pub should be. The new Managers have persuaded the young, rowdy and sometimes violent members of the community to 'go drink elsewhere'. The general atmosphere of the place is now of a warm, friendly, quiet pub. The food is excelent, and whilst there is only 1 live ale on at the moment is is kept in super condition. A great pub and a nice place to spend your time.

The new managers of the hare and hounds have made all local people under 40 feel very unwelcome even barring people for such henious offences as arriving on a motorbike , laughting and "i just dont like the look of you" to a young man who had never even been in the pub before !!!! Shame that they feel it is their job to help ruin the local community .

We went here for lunch on the strength of a 7.2/10 rating... Rather disappointing. Food was very mediocre but cheap; beer was absolutely nothing to write home about though well kept; wine was standard generic plonk out of a small bottle. Absolutely no better than our local, which is, er, local.
Why is it so difficult to find a decent country pub with good ales and decent food? If you live round the corner from the Hare and Hounds then it's better than some, but not worth a trip to.

Having driven past this pub off and on, en route from South London to Sussex, for about 20 years, I stopped on Sunday evening for the first time. It was quiet, warm, and comfortable, and welcoming, and I tried Horsham Best Bitter for the first time - very satisfying. I'll be stopping again!

Checked out again just before New Year and again New Years Eve. Returning to its former glory as a locals pub in more plusher surroundings. Still had Westerham and Kings with another micro guest (I didn't like the taster) and a seasonal from Westerham which included cinnamon (ok for 1 pint to finish but wrecked your taste buds otherwise)

This used to be a wonderful locals pub until about 5 years ago when the long standing landlord left. Changed hands many times since then and gone rapidly downhill.
Another new landlord has since repainted the outside (good mual of hare and hounds) and refilled the hanging baskets. The interior also extensively refurbished although the colours not to my taste.
It had 4 ales available including an own label, British Bulldog from the nearest micro at Westerham and Kings from the ex-owner of King & Barnes.
Once more my favorite pub in the village
