I`ve never liked any incarnation of this place before to be honest - always seemed to be surrounded and frequented by pretentious tosspots drinking trendy beers.....however had a quick pint early evening and have to say it was quite a pleasant experience, not too bad at all...must be mellowing in my old age!

Food to die for and a good selection of craft ales are the headline here. The unique selling point is the selection of wood smoked meats and pizzas . The beer is has its own ranged of excellent value beers alongside Purity fare...if you need feeding in Moseley this the joint..

Now taken over by the landlord of the Prince of Wales and dubbed "Mo Dough" as it is a pizza/craft ale pop up. It is soon to close again and be rebranded as the the "Dark Horse"

Refused entry on a Friday night because I was wearing (clean) trainers. Get a clue, people - this is Moseley not the West End. Or maybe it was just the doorman referred to earlier, I don't know.

Never been in the place, having regualrly walked past the outside bit, and seen the type of clientele it attracts on a Friday night.

One piece of advice for the owners of this place would be to sack the racist black doorman who is regularly offensive to the clientel and treats the place like he owns it.. so often the case with bars in Brum.

Maybe the real owner would be shocked to witness the friendly couples and small groups who are having their night ruined by this ignorant moron who is letting his scummy chav mates have a free run of what is during the week a pleasant bar staffed by nice pleasant people.

I was a regular eating 50+ worth of food and drink twice a week with my girlfriend until I visited one saturday night. I will never return and none of my circle of friends will do either.

I know someone who occasionally works in the kitchens here. I have also had the food (not sure he cooked it!), but it was a decent veggie burger as I recall. Otherwise the place is full of Sandal wearing Hoxton wannabees drinking the expensive bottled continental lager on offer. Not a place I will regularly visit.

Laid back place a little epensive but good food. The Gourmet burgers look meaty and the chips are like those from a chippy.

Do plenty of Moseley pub crawls these days and this pub is nice for a stop off, generally laid back atmosphere in here and as below good selection of foreign lagers, shame bout the ale...

Better than it used to be. Menus are a bit simpler and food is good standard, although not cheap. No real ale, but a varied selection of foreign lagers and whatnot.

Went in here last Saturday - The place was busy busy and I can see why - fit women friendly doorstaff and a generally safe environment, friendly punters. Sambucas went down very easily. Sunday lunch was fantastic, service was much better than last time. Highly recommended. 9/10

EXCELLENT FOOD. GOURMET BURGERS ARE GREAT. NEW COLOUR SEEMS TO WORK WELL. EASY TO SMOKE ON THE OUTSIDE PATIO. WELL DONE

I like sitting outside watching the freaks go to the post office.

By far the best tasting food in Moseley, everything cooked fresh everyday I believe it says on their menu. Gets busy at the weekends, but is more comfortable in the week. The comedy night is the best thing about the Cross though, and the doormen manage to keep the chavs out, which is nice.

People come from all over to drink in this pub and stand and sit outside when the weather is good. Being a local, I don't see the attraction. The beer is expensive and it just lacks atmosphere. Most of the patrons are on their way somewhere else.
