Just one Davenports when we visited. Locals pub. A bit run down. Won't be back in a rush though.

Watched the Ireland v England rugby on Saturday, pleasant enough pub with cheap Davenport's IPA at 2.40 pt good value. Some young lads were getting a noisy but were managed well by the barmaid and the lads themselves were polite and not threatening.

Popped in here on the way back to the Railway Station. Initially we attracted the locals attention as it is very much a locals pub. Once in you are confronted with a choice of 3 beers, all from the Marstons stable, it's been a while since I had plumped for a Banks' Mild/Original so I went for that, not a beer that's improved any. the pub is comfortable enough, no airs or graces, a decent boozer, which seems rare in Stratford. Nothing wrong at all with it.

From the outside and from the name you would think that this is a wine bar, but it isnt. Once inside its a fairly basic boozer with slightly worn red seating and loads of dining tables. The reason for this becomes obvious when you spot the sign that says 2 meals for 4.95!!!! Most people were dining and what they got for the price looked great. The group of guys in overalls in front of us had liver, onions, mash and peas and they got huge platefuls. Cant comment about the taste as we didnt eat here, but everyone seemed to be enjoying it. 6 handpumps on the bar doubling up with Bankss Bitter and Original plus Hobgoblin. A pint of Hobgoblin and a 175 ml wine was 4.50 in here. Compare that to the White Swan across the road at 7.10. The Hobgoblin was a good pint as well. Its a friendly bar with a buzzy feel about it, we liked it.

Bar area felt in need of a little TLC, wasnt quite what we were expecting from looking at the outside first. Garden was full of what appeared to be regulars, so had to sit inside. Mainly regulars inside too but quite a mix of people, although didnt feel uncomfortable. Very good value prices for drinks and the food seemed amazingly cheap considering usual Stratford prices, although we didnt try any, so cant comment on what its actually like to taste. As said above, it needs a lick of paint and a few chairs needed repair and bulbs gone in a few places, but overall a fair pub and we would return for the good prices offered & ideal location to the centre of town.

this quirky place had a bit of a run down, yet kind of homely feel to it. the toilets leave a lot to be desired but it was fairly priced and the pint was rather drinkable. the customers seemed to be mainly regulars but we didnt feel unwelcome.

Ok pub, nothing special. Had a "Slaughtered Lamb" feel as I walked in! Ahhh outsiders! but after the first pint they were friendly enough.

Weird kind of place. Complete mix of people in there - Chinese students, a group of middle-aged women, old couples, rockers. Felt a bit open and too bright.

Beer was OK, nothing special.

A curious pub that has never really changed much. A good drinking hole frequented by all sorts of people from young people to old winos. Generally nice.

Nice boozerie! Went there and met the quirkiest bar dud who was an absolute scream, knew a good beer (despite being a l*ger drinker) but I sit get a wet arse sitting on the upholstered furniture. I'd rather never know what I'd sat in.

All-in-all I reckon this has great potential. (Arses dry off eventually)
