I cannot see just why Dogs SHOULD be allowed into a Pub / Restuarant..........

Dogs are not allowed... a disappointing waste of time.

Tidy pub to pop in for an ale when strolling on the prom. Good Thai food reasonably priced food as well which my wife loved. Looks like it has been recently renovated and is pretty chilled out. Quiet earlier in the week but builds up as most pubs do nearer the weekend. Guarenteed NO CHAVS which is why I like it :). Lay out is odd inside but the building is an odd shape!.

Called in here this afternoon, with high expectations. Only to find a cold, dreary, boring Pub with no atmosphere at all,and no customers either. Not suprising really. What a shame.......

One of the best pubs in South Wales. I play in a poker league there on Thursdays and there's a great atmosphere and the staff are very friendly , which makes the Bay View a great night out!

i loved this pub when i used to live in Swansea. The staff are great, the food is superb and that aussie boss is a barrel of laughs!! If your in the swansea/Mumbles area check this pub out you will not be disspointed. Number 21 on the menu is particularly good, thats if its not changed!!

Well, after seeing all the comments on this thread, we just had to go along and have a look at this venue, and I'm glad we did, It's a very unusual mixture of a Thai Restaurant, Bar and Lounge, with Big screen sports thrown in too, Live Music as well on certain nights. It was very quiet when we were there in the afternoon, but it was still very pleasant indeed, and we shall certainly be going back there when its busy, as I would think there is an even better atmosphere here then.Well Done to the owner, whom I believe has commented here on this thread. Nice One.....

The Bay View is a fantastic bar and restaurant. The food is SUPERB! Good to have a Thai restaurant in Swansea finally that serves a wonderfully extensive menu which seems to cater for everyone. Great staff and relaxed, comfortable atmosphere. Will be going again soon!

i think i may encourage my mates to take this pub under their wing, i can see myself drinking in their more often.

Who cares whether the comments are good or bad...just count how many comments there are. That says alot.
Me and a dozen mates were up for my stag do last weekend and happened to end up in here for a bit in the afternoon. Had some nice food (been to Thailand last year and can say that The Bay View's grub is superb), were looked after so well by the staff and landlord that after an attempt at doing the Mumble's mile we piled back here as all the Mumble's pubs were crap (either Welsh nationalist hovels or horrible touristy, souless venues). Swansea has a real asset here in the Bay View and I wish Matt and co all the best for the future. Not that they'll need luck when they are so good at what they do. Thanks a million for a great weekend, Richard and co!

Had lots of fun here a couple of sundays ago.Had a great atmosphere .Lots of dancing on tables with a great band called joe schmo . Good beer and barmaids are good to look at aswell. Went in for lunch today fine thai food and quick service (just what you want when you only have an hour).Has all the makings of a great place.

p.s. going to be a good place to grab a beer while on the beach in the summer

Looks and sounds very impressive, having also looked at the pub's own website. I'm visiting Swansea for the first time in June for the Glamorgan v Surrey cricket match. With the cricket ground being just a few hundred yards down the road the Bay View will definitely be added to my itinerary!

I moved to Swansea from the other side of the world simply to be near to this pub after its refurbishment. I lie awake at night dreaming of the food. The beer is amazing. The ambience is fantastic. It is the best pub in the whole world. I want to live there. LET ME LIVE IN THIS PUB THIS PUB IS THE BEST PLACE EVER. If the whole world was like the Bay View - in the words of Homer Simpson - WE WOULDN'T NEED HEAVEN - WE'D ALREADY BE THERE.

Just look at the photo - it doesn't look bleak at all. And read the reviews below by regular contributors to the site who are shrewd pub-goers, bowled over by the Bay View experience.

Always brings a smile to my face when I think about this place. A home from home. An amazing welcome and a landlord and landlady who are very dear to my heart. Pop in for a pint or many a few.

I am the new owner of The Bay View and work very hard to achieve complete customer satisaction. I mention this site to all my customers so they can share their views.
I welcome all feedback, negative or positive.
(If I don't know about a problem then I cannot fix it)).

I do pay BITE a client fee of 50 per year. This gives me the opportunity to upload photos and other relevant infomation but it does not allow me to delete negative comments. If this was the case, I would have deleted yours.
I do not have to time to sit and write loads of comments under pseudonyms as you claim. I am far to busy working 18 hour days to make my business a success.

My aim is simple, to create a great environment for everyone to enjoy, wether it be the food offering, big screen sports or live music.

Judging by most of the comments on this site, I must be doing something right.

To all those who have supported me with your feedback, my utmost thanks go out to you.

Kind regards

Matt Nicol

Is it the case that if you pay to register your pub on the site, the site owners edit out bad comments and allow the owners to register under loads of pseudonyms and make good comments (whilst deleting comments from me pointing this out)?? Seems to be the case here.

I love this place!! matt and sam are fantastic managers and the food is so good i crave it. i will definitely be going back!! recomend it to everyone.

I don't understand all these positive comments. It's ok, but it's not that great. The food is just average, in my opinion, although I must admit I'm not an expert on thai food at all. It's not somewhere I'd choose to go to watch sport either, atmosphere doesn't seem quite right for that with all the emphasis on food. Nothing really wrong with this place, it's just average.

What a lovely pub. Great atmosphere, scrumptious Thai food (and ive been to thailand!) Freindly bar staff and a Lovely publican who knows how to run a bar. A great place to eat, drink and generally relax with both friends and family. I would highly recommend it for a great night out.

What an unbeliveable transformation. Went to this Pub about 2 years back and vowed then never to return. However friends convinced me return with the assurances that it was under new management and had changed - that was all they said, so I risked it, and could not believe that I was in the same pub. Okay the pool table has been removed, but as an even better addition now there is a relaxing restaurant serving superb thai. The beer is good, the atmosphere relaxing - whether for a few chilled drinks on a Sunday or the bender from hell with the boys. There is quite a diverse clientle, but everyone there is having a good time - a big endorsement there to the management and staff. Fantastic watching the 6 nations on multiple big screens, looking forward to spending some quality time in their with the world cup.
You will struggle to get me to even look at another pub.
Dougie_Fresh - 29 Mar 2006 14:08
This pub is top shelf - the staff are friendly and helpful, the food is excellent and the Publican is a top man to have a beer with. Atmosphere caters for both a quiet drink with friends or an all out saturday night. The dukebox allowing tunes to be downloaded will be hard to resist.

Great alternative to Wind Steet. It has a mixed range of people all enjoying the views the excellant Thai food, and good tunes from a Juke Box that has over 2 million songs on it!!!

What a breath of fresh air for the dull dreary Publand of Swansea.
I visited this pub recently and was surprised how much it had changed.
I used to drink here in my student days and now it is big, bright and airy serving Thai food. I have travelled Thailand and the food is cooked much in the same way.
There is a lovely restaurant where the pool table once lived, and a great lounge area with huge leather sofa's infront of an open fire.
Highly reccomended

Went here to watch the England V Wales Rugby match on Saturday. The place was packed, the beer was flowing and the atmosphere was excellant.
Friendly efficent staff, well run pub. They even emptied my ashtray lots.
I was told they serve very good Thai food, but got too p*ssed to early and had to go home.

Great views, great beer, fantastic food.

Definitely a venue ideal for anything from work time drinks to "classy place to eat".
Going to take my next business client there for a meal

Big boozer opposite the beach on a stretch of road between Swansea City and The Mumbles. Was once a Firkin pub but now its nicely decorated with pretty good Thai food served up in the restuarant or the bar.
Shows sport on big screens.
Good for...drinking and eating..and great views!

Well done! The refurbishments have lightened up the place magnificently and the new bar top gives it a more modern fell which works exceptionally well. The new landlord seems dedicated and friendly, and with small fine tuning this has potential to be the only place to have Friday night drinks after work.

I was there for the opening sat 15th oct and the delicious Thai nibbles accompanied my ice cold pint of star to perfection. I look forward to spending allot more time there.

Having had high expectations of this new location resulting from my experience at the Racing Page in London, I have to say that they are onto a winner once again. The decor is excellent. The atmosphere is wonderful, and the food goes without saying. It truly is the only real Thai eatery in Swansea from what I observed of the other purported establishments.

I have just been to this pub for dinner in the lovely dining room and was very impressed with the standard of service and the quality of the food. The waiter was Greg and he was very attentative.
Very good authntic Thai food, which has been missing from Swansea for many years.
The bar area has been tastefully decorated and there is a large lounge area with some big comfortable sofas to relax in after dinner.
Well woth a second visit...soon!

The lease on this pub has just been sold (August 2005). Expect a new landlord and a bit of a liven up in the coming months. The new landlord was previously running The Racing Page in Richmond, London.
