Stackpole Inn, Stackpoleback to pub details please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.
Very much a dining pub - if you're there for a drink only then you'll probably be invited to sit on one of the few seats near to the bar. But it does look nice inside, the service is very professional and the Felinfoel Best Bitter was very good. They are still selling Double Dragon, Reverend James and a guest ale (today's was Tiny Rebel's Beat Box) and they also had a couple of real ciders (Gwynt Y Ddraig's Black Dragon and Happy Daze) as well as the standard Stowford Press.

I've been here a couple of times in the last few years and on both occasions have been really impressed. The food is excellent, there has been a good range of local ales on and in good condition, the building is lovely, the atmosphere good and the service faultless. I look forward to the next time I can return!

More a restaurant then a typical pub, the Stackpole Inn is nonetheless an excellent establishment. I visited without booking on a Tuesday and got the last space I the car park and the only available table for two. I chose Lightning (guest ale) which was correctly chilled and fresh. Rev James was also available plus a local brew of 7%+! (Cannot remember the name of it.) For food I had locally caught whole plaice and season veg and it was superb in every respect and equal to anything I have had in the best London eateries. Two x two course meals, drinks and liqueur/coffees came to �55. Nearly forgot to mention the attentive and interested staff.
I enjoyed my visit so much that I booked a table for the Thursday and followed much the same course, this time having the Welsh lamb which was of extremely high quality. Folks were being politely turned away for lack of tables/booking and some chose to wait � I cannot blame them. I drank Rev James which was perfect in all senses. Other beers are available including the usual range of lagers plus Guinness.
Without doubt, the Stackpole Inn is the best establishment in the area and the management work hard to maintain standards. Like I said, more a restaurant than a pub and in fine weather there are some tables on the lawn outside. Will most definitely visit again and recommend this place to friends.

Ventured into this welcoming Inn last Easter whilst on a walking break and sampled a few pints of excellent real ale. I did not have a meal but the food looked to be well cooked and of ample proportions that satisfied many visitors whilst I was there. The staff were courteous and professional whilst never being condescending. Very highly recommended.

Escaped into this lovely place to escape the rain last weekend. Very nice roast beef with all the trimmings. This place has definitley ventured into the 21st century and offers a welcoming retreat from the elements.

Winner of "best food pub Wales 2005". Has three Welsh real ales on tap, (Double Dragon and Best Bitter from Felinfoel and Reverednd James from Brains)and also a guest ale tap. Guinness Carlsberg, Celtic Gold and Stowford Press Cidre are also available. Good wine list to go with great food.
