user reviews of the Bell Inn, Cromford

please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

Cromford seems to be a bit spoilt for good ale, with the Boat around the corner and Barley Mow at Bonsall a five minute bus ride away. The Bell has good beer and a really nice 'social club' feel to it. 9/10

A small pub in Cromford a good range of beers but not all tasting to good! worth a visit.

The reviewer below missed the lounge room, which is a small but comfortable room with a log burner and small bar which adjoins the main bar. So, three rooms altogether plus the function room upstairs (which hosts, amongst many other things, Roger's Cromford Folk Club night every other Tuesday.)

Surprisingly small inside given the size of the building from outside. Two rooms, but one is almost just a large lobby on the way to the toilets. Main room has all the feel of a social club rather than a pub, but welcoming all the same. Bass, Pedigree and what looks like a guest pump with this time Thwaites Triple C on. Two very friendly Basset hounds on the stairs at the back of the bar when on the way to the loo. Advertsting a beer festival next weekend (August Bank Holiday).

Locals pub, friendly customers and staff. When we visited a beer festival was taking place. Nice ales. Would visit again.

Small but friendly enough pub showing Sky Sports. Odd that the beer garden is across the other side of a busy main road and has a platanque/botch ball/les boules area!

Doesn't seem to serve much food save for a few homemade cobs (or rolls, barms, breadcakes, stotties...depending on where you're from).

Beer is in excellent condition and often an obscure guest ale can be found from a microbrewery.

Worth a visit if in the area.

Tiny, welcoming, good beer and immense portions of homecooked pie and chips. Admittedly I'm biased (Iplay football for them), but a really good local.
