STILL CLOSED!! Steel shutters now. The local newspaper reported some gun crime to do with the management but it is a sad loss to the area - it was a real local

Great pint, great company, great staff. Always a pleasure going in, and always made to feel welcome by everybody there. You don't have to be a local, or a regular to enjoy a great night out here. The landlord serves up some great grub too.

Enjoyed the band (Blue Fuses) in here on Saturday, beer was good and the atmosphere relaxed. Chatted with the landlord who seems a good bloke, place is no where near any of the comments below, but don't take my word go yourself and have a great pint.

Went here for the first time on Saturday night. There was a terrific band lively relaxed place.
The bar staff excellent and a friendly landlord the atmosphere was great and "locals" and the bands following mixed together no problems.
I think it shows that reputations change under new ownership 4 so called locals were sitting out side and we were greated by every one of them.

Down to earth but very friendly pub. You might hear some swearing but the same people are putting their hands in their pockets to support the pubs charities. Not too expensive, and friendly staff. Not the kind of pub that sells you 10 pints and then gets pissed off with you for being drunk. You'll also get a great game of pool in here as well. Definately worth a look if you are not pretentious.

Has anyone ever seen Dusk 'til Dawn. Nuff said
Cleavelandroadmassive - 23 Apr 2005 17:52
Ignore the previous bit about calling me someone, I read it incorrectly...sorry!!!

Your still not listening!!!! This incident where someone was "attacked" happened before my dad was the landlord. You've obviously made a mistake, as you called me Kim which was the previous owners daughter! So get your facts staight. Now this pub may not be everyones cup of tea, but we have fun and we raise a lot of money for such causes as spinal muscular atrophy and have lots of fun nights!

This is my parents pub, so of course I'm going to be biased. Its a workmans pub and everyone knows everyone. Me and my four sisters love this place and wouldn't change it or the people in it for the world.

I would also like to point out that the incident that happened to the person above happened before my dad was the landlord, so DONT listen to them. CheersXXX

Kim
You seem very knowledgeable about my attack ..... However the "incident" as you call it happened 21 months ago ...not quite the five or six years as you stated ! I have now (on Friday) completed the dental treatment required to put right the damage done .. at a cost of very close to 1,000 ... not a cheap night out! even though you think the clientel may have changed i would not set foot in the place and would still warn off doing so.

The gentleman above who was attacked, must be reminded that this incident probably happened about five or six years ago if its the person i am thinking of. The pub has now changed and so has most of the customers especially the person who inflicted those injuries. I can understand his bitterness but the regulars now are not capable of such actions

I use this pub.Everybody is one big family. Everone looks after everybody else. Any trouble(which is rare) is often caused by outsiders. If u want to have fun and be youself then this is the place. The owners, barstaff and regulars are very friendly
kim jones - 23 Jan 2004 16:12
this is possibly the WORSE pub in Surbiton and i used to work there i would never never set foot the place again after having one of my frony tetth knocked out and ending up with 24 stiches ion my lips and gums following being set upon as leaving the pub BE WARNED DO NOT GO THERE !!!!
