Up for auction with planning to convert all of it apart from the bar area into an HMO...ie bedsits for deadbeats.

Not sure if it will survive as a 'pub'.

Popped in for a swift half while on the nearby leisure trail on a warm and sunny weekday lunchtime to find I was the only customer! Welcome was friendly enough but the place was dead and the loos look straight out of the sixties. The fact the pub over the road was busy says it all really.

A big "thumbs up" for the Junction Tavern, which ticks all the right boxes for a decent boozer. Its an attractive, friendly Greene King pub serving good food and beer. The 'Be Nice or Leave' Policy is upheld firmly but fairly, and certainly stands the pub well ahead of others in the area simply for the zero tolerance on any kind of trouble. It makes for a genuinely Nice Pub suitable for everyone, always with plenty going on through the week including Poker nite to Bingo to Quiz. It is not the nearest pub from my front door, but by far the best, and for the last 4 years since i moved into the area, i am always prepared to walk literally the extra mile, past the others, to get there.

I can't praise the Junction enough. One of the first things Harry & Michelle did when they took over the pub was to put up a sign behind the bar which says "Be nice or leave". It's still there neally six years later and that's all that will ever be asked of you. You can still have a lot of fun and let rip, it is a boozer after all, and there is massive scope for frivolity within that message. I'd happily take my mum there for a drink and I wouldn't say that about all the pubs in the vicinity. I'd also take someone there on a first date (well maybe a second date), it's that kind of place which appeals to a broad cross section of people with something for everyone.

Miserable pub inhabited by hapless local soaks and deadheads who wouldn't know a good time if it bit them on the ass, many with a chip on their shoulder. I've seen more charisma in a flat bottle of pop. I would not agree that it is friendly place to those outside the miserable clique that inhabits this glum tavern. Forget about the jukebox going up above a whisper, lest it offend the sensibilities of the emaciated landlady with her head so far up her own *rse that it's a wonder she can serve any drinks. Spends her time behind the bar looking for any slight observations of anyone willing to take the place out of its own dead zone. Slovenly barstaff who are more interested in hanging on punters' conversations than doing any major graft behind the bar. Great shame 'cos the building is solid, good looking and could be a great place. Not under this management though. Big sign behind the bar saying "Be nice or leave" I wasn't so I left and thankfully will never have to go back. Beer ok though. Make your own judgement.

Very friendly local, very impresed with the food and beer, lots to do from Poker on a Monday to Quiz later in the week.

Greene King house serving excellent IPA, Abbot Ale and Old Speckled Hen. Never any sign of any guest beers but don't let that put you off. Well worth a visit.
