Good luck to Claire and Stephen in their new venture. From our visit early last Wednesday evening, their mission statement of giving customers An experience to remember for all the right reasons is working VERY well indeed.

There were several real ales available my pint of Saltaire Blonde was spot on.

Our meals were superb too. They were freshly prepared, well presented, and excellent quality. By the time we left around 8.30pm the pub was buzzing with both drinkers and diners many of whom seemed to be locals, which is an even better sign

Keep up the good work guys you seem to have hit on a winning formula

No hesitation 10/10 !!!

NOW UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT!!!

Claire and Stephen would like to invite old and new customers to the Old Glen House. We took over and reopened the doors from the 1st April 2011, and have so far received fabulous comments about the food, service and cleanliness of the pub. Here at the Old Glen House, we aim to give you an experience you will remember for all the right reasons. All the food served is delivered fresh everyday, from Shetland mussels to fresh raspberries. We look forward to seeing you all very soon

We ate here on the 18th September and what a disappointment it was. Our reservation was for 8pm, we arrived at 7.45 and we were shown to our table. We were given a printed table d'hote menu that had had been altered by hand, prices crossed out and changed, etc. The menu on offer was VERY limited, so much so that even had we enjoyed the experience there would not have been much point in returning.

We had the crispy duck starter, well I seemed to have the lardons and my wife the crispy duck. The steak was very nice but half a dozen chip size pieces of what we think was sweet potato and a handful of lettuce do not an accompaniment make. No steak knife offered.

I suppose I should have complained at each stage when asked if all was alright, but I do not like to do so if things are merely poor rather than abysmal so I sent an email once I got home.

One other couple were so upset that they sent their main course back, it seems it was not what they ordered.

The other couple asked to speak to the chef/manager/owner but he was unavailable even though he had been in the bar not ten minutes earlier. If it had not been for the fact that we had a voucher for 50 (for which we paid 25) we would have thought the evening a disater.

The food and service did not in any way match the high standards the owner sets out on the venue's website and the menu did not have anything like the variety of the example on the site.

Another fabulous evening had by us all at the old glen house we had dinner here friday 18th of june and came back for fathers day great service and well worth every penny the prawns were delicious and came in an old style half pint glass the staff were so friendly and welcoming and the chef even came and chatted to us all at the end of our meals. I reccomend this venue to all people who know about GOOD food and would definately rate this venue 10/10 perfect absolutly faultless and the wine list has a wide variety too definatly one to put in your books this is a 5* dining experience to me and all my family & friends we can see why this is a popular food destination terrific.

DONT COMPLAIN ABOUT THE FOOD UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE MET BY THE POLICE WHEN YOU RETURN HOME. I and five friends visited the Old Glen House one Saturday evening in February. Our first impression upon arrival was that the restaurant was completely empty especially as prior to booking here Id phoned three other local pubs that were all fully booked! In fact all evening only one other table was occupied so as you can imagine the atmosphere was severely lacking. In our opinion the two prawn starters were frozen and two pork tenderloin main courses were unevenly cooked and in parts bloody. The chef refused to serve us deserts because wed had the audacity to complain about his food and the front of house staff didnt want to know. When we asked to speak to him he avoided us and eventually we approached him while he was stood behind the bar. His customer service skills were lacking to say the least. He was rude and insulting and wasnt interested in what we had to say. We deducted the two prawn and two pork dishes from the bill and paid the remainder before being asked to leave and told not to come back. UPON ARRIVING HOME WE WERE MET BY TWO POLICE OFFICERS who said theyd had a report from the pub that my wife had been drinking heavily in the restaurant and left the car park erratically. Obviously this was totally unfounded, vindictive and extremely immature and when we explained what had happened the police were even less impressed that the pub had deliberately wasted police time than we were with the poor food and extremely poor service. Certainly wouldnt recommend to anyone.

I spent a wonderful evening at The Old Glen House for my birthday yesterday. Fabulous food, great service - just a wonderful evening, truly faultless and a BIG Thank You for the complimentary champagne to celebrate the occasion.

I would recommend this Pub Restaurant to anyone who enjoys good wine and fine food ... you will not be disappointed. I've had the pleasure of staying in some very nice hotels in the world and 6****** hotels in Dubai and the food here at The Old Glen House in Baildon is, in my opinion, much better than some of those places! I am a fussy person and some would say at times very hard to please for standards... however, this place ticks all the boxes for me and has to be one of the best places to eat in the area. Well done - keep the hard work up! We'll be back soon ....

If you don't know the area you really should go here during the day and just have a walk around outside, then have a few drinks. Haven't eaten here for a while, but last time I did it was very good (I think it has changed hands since 2007). The pub itself isn't anything very special, but the location is beautiful.

We went one evening about 9 months ago, we had a superb meal, every course was truly delicious and well cooked, beautifully presented, service was second to none.
Our only complaint was the room was a little chilly.
Unfortunately we have not managed to get back again.

I tend to eat Sunday Lunch in a pub somewhere in Yorkshire every week and I knew of this pub but had not previously been inside. Upon arriving I was heartened to see a sign by the door indicating the food was of a high standard and that the pub had won awards. Stepping inside I was impressed with what looks to be a recent makeover and peeped into the restaurant area to the right before entering the spacious split-level bar area. Staff were bright, pleasant and welcoming and I bought a pint of Landlord and my companion had lager. The bar meal menu seemed comprehensive enough for our needs today and we both ordered slow braised lamb served with roast parsnips and fresh rosemary jus at 9.95 Noticing the pub made quite a thing of wine with a separate wine list and amusing quotations on a board behind the bar I decided a glass of decent red would be available so asked at the bar. The only red wine available by the glass was 'French table wine' so I stuck to beer:-( The food arrived served in large soup plates. A very pale coloured decent size lamb shank sitting on a few slivers of parsnip with some watery liquid and a sprig of rosemary accompanied by a tiny dish of fresh carrot slices and green cabbage. The food wasn't particularly warm and the meat hadn't been cooked hot enough to break down huge layers of fat. The only taste was of fat which permeated the otherwise tasteless water laughing called jus. The parsnips were colourless and tasted as though they had simply been boiled, there was no evidence of roasting. I was surprised there were no potatoes at all and the portion of vegetables was on the small side for two people. I've seen too many food programmes to complain BEFORE I eat unless the food is absolutely unpalatable so I ate the miserable tasteless offering and left. Reading the reviews and the information around the pub I can only assume the wonderful chef mentioned on the notice at the door was on holiday or off sick today because no pub could serve food like that and expect to survive.

This has always been a good place to have a few drinks. Much improved since the old pool room has been returned to a restaurant - Number of Chavs greatly reduced. Excellent food and efficient staff.
