New management, what a change. Complete interior refurbishment. The 30 year old cellar and beer lines have been replaced. What an improvement. Kitchen being refurbished at the moment and pub grub soon to be on the menu. Spitfire, Butcombe and Otter on at the moment. Excellent beer. Hope it keeps up. Landlord and Landlady very friendly and determined to get the pub back on the map after being trashed by a previous tenant.

There is a local rumour that this pub is closing. But it was certainly open last night. Used to be very good. Perhaps a visit is called for when time permits.

Dropped in here on the 1st of March (bit late adding a reviev!!). Was made quite welcome, being a stranger! The beer was great and in good condition, Doom Bar as I remember). But best of all I was treated to the site of a middle aged 'Goth' lady!! Stunning, I hope she's there when I next visit!!!

Called in recently in the evening on the way back on the way back from the West Country had a warm welcome from Lou & Dean the new landlords. We decided to have to have a meal after looking at the menu which was varied. Our food arrived promptly & was thoroughly enjoyed by both of us and would certainly recommend this pub for its beer food & atmosphere

The Marston Inn is now under new ownership.

Lorraine and Dean welcome you to the Marston Inn, with open fires, real ales, home cooked Sunday Carvery and Special Offer Nights.

Arrived for dinner today at 1pm and got short shift from a very rude landlady saying they wernt open yet and were not doing food, despite boards outside advertising food etc.
Very unfriendly and deserves to go broke !

I'm sorry that dreamer9 had a bad experience here. We had a great evening here with good beer (and skittles) It was certainly a thriving local and there was a good supper of chilli. Only thing we didn't like was the tv on mute. I mean; what's the point? turn the damn thing off! Grrr!

Not a place to visit if you simply want a drink. The landlady was uninterested, she was writing on the chalk board and just grunted as we walked by. I assume it was the landlord who served us, our first drink. On trying to get a second drink I stood at the Bar over 10 minutes while 'Speedy' dawdled along behind the bar. I thought I was just about to be served when he spotted someone wanting to order food, someone who had just came in, he served them leaving us standing. I waited some more minutes, then decided to leave. This is obviously a food pub now. Don't go if you are thirsty. We sat in the bar area, they had music playing, competing with the News channel on the TV. All in all not a pleasant visit.

This pub has recently changed hands - wow, and attitude..!!! Popped in for a pint, tried Spitfire, absolutely rubbish, had to send it back. Tried Guinness and after sending three pints back, managed to have one that was below average. Hardly anyone in the pub, where have the old regulars gone now? Very unfriendly and no attitude at all. Horses / ponies running around in the beer garden, bit like a zoo. An attempt to clean this place up was noticed. Wont be back in a hurry.

Good, friendly village pub with good, well-kept beer. Sitting in the sun in the patio garden with a good pint - ideal!

I came to this pub as a stranger in dire need of drink and food on a wet bank holiday weekend. I received a great welcome, had some great beer and some of the best roast spuds I have tasted. Quite simply a great pub.
