There was nothing wrong with this pub, but if wasn't as good as the enticing exterior led me to expect. Only one real ale available as the Brains SA was off.

I honestly cannot see why this pub has got such a low BITE rating (3.8 at the time of writing) as in my humble opinion it should be nearer 7/10. OK, it is nothing outstanding, but it serves a very nice pint of Brains Bitter, It is clean and comfortable, and the food, although standard pub fare, was pretty good, freshly cooked, nicely served and good value for money.

And when we visited, the young lady behind the bar was friendly and helpful.

What more do you want ???

I have been in other pubs with much higher BITE ratings which have turned out to be crap compared to this one.

Brains pub with SA on the pump, not brilliant. The exterior is the best thing about it. Quite forgetable.

What a disappointment! Visted this gorgeous looking pub on a Thursday evening in early November for a drink and a meal. The surly barlady had to "phone the landlady" to enquire if there was food on that night. It wasn't, I was told rather sullenly and the local Italian restaurant was recommended rather sarcastically. It was a very different story over at The Chequers!

This pub is now the ONLY place in Leominster doing food on a Sunday afternoon. Was there with a friend during the Ipswich-West Bromwich Albion match on 4th April 2004, enjoyed excellent spag-bol and superb soup starter. Was on the "wagon" then, but noted Brains Sa is still available here on handpump. Good pub.

Brains'brewery tied house in the town square, keeping the Brains SA Bitter plus a special beer in good condition. Non-smoking area for diners - very good value food most of the day. A must!
