well its happened again...... just getting back to a warm friendly local pub with
Korky & Carl back at the helm !!! Third visit back in 6 weeks to discover that Korky & Carl have left..... when will these breweries realise that the locals know best !! The beers may be as good but the atmosphere is just not the same...

Like stepping back in time this place, had a big wow factor for me from the first time I saw it. Great beer and locals very friendly.

Kev and Carol are doing a great job building the place back up, if you don't spend the visit with a smile on your face, there must be something wrong!!!

Keep up the good work and see you soon!

A warm welcome from Kevin and Carol the new lincenses as you walk into the most ornate bar in Telford. Brilliant ale and a cracking warm atmosphere, hope they do well and keeep serving cracking beer.

Gone downhill since last visit , 3 real ales on Black Country BFG , Saddlers and Salopian Gold which was poor . Barman seemed more intrested in TV than serving customers , atmosphere very dodgy , not the pub it should be .

Agree with comments about bar its proper old tiles and ornate window , beer ok . Lot of undesirebles seem to have migrated up from the now closed duke of york making it a lot less pleasant than previuos visits .

Decent beer (salopian] and a good range of bottled beer , service ok if not over friendly .Trouble is went on a sunday fairly quiet but nice , a couple weeks later went on a saturday night , lounge on two levels but still small half of which was taken by hard rock band ! the pub is to small for this so we went in the bar it is fantastic all tiled and stained glass , but not one person in there , barman seemed suprised anyone intrested in bar , this should be pubs highlight . Overall decent pub just not on a saturday !

Still looks a lovely pub but definatley lacks atmosphere. beers taste ok, service average but the whole place needs a little bit of life injected into it. It just hasnt been the same since "Corky" and her team left.Bring them back if only to ensure that this pub is not going to be boarded up like so many others in the area.!!

Just read Dave's comment - sure, it's a local - but my experience with the landlord and landlady (Rob and Trish Dawson) has been excellent and i've found them to be extremly welcoming. Additionally the beer is always in tiptop condition and the food's worth a try as well.

Been twice.Impression of slaughtered lamb springs to mind. Not very family friendly unless local.

Great new people have taken over here recently. Pub is spotlessly clean, the Shropshire Gold is bright and fresh and most importantly - the new gaffers seem really friendly and don't take any nonsense from the undesirables! Give the place a go and make sure you visit the victorian tiled bar - spectacular.

Recently refurbished pub serving a great pint of Greene King IPA and Tim Taylors.
The lounge is clean and comfortable and the public bar is a stunning (beautifully restored) tiled victorian tap-room. There isn't anything to compare with this within 50 miles.
The landlady (called Corky) is friendly too - bonus!
