Went in here the other day for Tuesday night Tapas - not at all bad. Will go back. Sadly though the whole place stunk, and the interior decor (done in 2005 when QP took it over and not touched since) is getting tatty and worn.

It smells of shit and piss and seems to be falling down not really much fun unless piss and shit are your thing they are laughing all the way to the bank charing a fiver .

It's amazing to hear people say QP is crap.?????

When Saturday night, especially, is packed to the doors.

My friends, my partner & I have had some brill nights out here. You can go and have a dance round the pole if you want and it's all in good fun.

Very rarely have I seen any trouble and if there has been the bouncers have dealt with it swiftly and with little fuss.

The lunch time meals are value for money.

notes to all people. the door staff are hired by an external company and are nothing to do with que pasa. so any issues please dont blame the company.. second.. the new owners, marstons inns and taverns, have set up new licensing rules for the dj's. no longer are they allowed to play cd's and therfore good music.. they have to use a built in system which is rarely updated..to be honest there is one dj there who uses his imagination to get great songs. so head down there on a thursday.

another thing..the staff in que pasa have to learn a massive range of drinks. think about how much effort they put into learning your drink next time. and then try putting yourself in their shoes when 200 people are at the bar shouting at you.. lots of people. not many bar staff. give them a break.. there is a refurbishment coming soon. so if anyone doesnt like the decor its gonna change soon.. plus a brand new food and drink menu have just been released. check it out. one more thing... ian robinson has done good things for this bar. people higher up the food chain make the bad decisions..

What a dive!!! Advice to anybody thinking of going in here...dont!! Theres that many weirdos & misfitts in this place its like walking into a scene from Star Wars!!!

I also agree with paul69- the security is crap! The bouncers seen to "turn a blind eye" whenever there is trouble here (which can be quite often)and yes...the place has gone downhill since being the Toad. The worse thing i found however is being totally ignored by the bar staff!! Even during a lunch time when its not even busy , the bar staff just dont want to move , and totally ignore customers who are waiting to be served...they will change optics, empty ashtrays , wipe the bar etc instead of serving!!They leave you stood there for 10 minutes and seem to think its fun.
My advice to anybody thinking of going there...dont go unless you have plenty of time or dont mind being ignored!! Do what we and may people do - walk back out!

Time for an update. Not very happy with this place. Very disappointed as it used to be a great night out. Firstly - staff problems. The old manager was an ignorant pig who accused my friends of stealing drinks from behind the bar - totally wrong, unfounded and scurrilous claims. Glad he's gone / got sacked. Secondly - crap security. My girlfriend had her purse nicked in here during one of the world cup matches. I asked the manager to check the CCTV - he told me he hadn't switched it on that day. Pathetic. Thirdly, all the nice bar staff appear to have left - what a shame. I was hoping being taken over by a nationwide chain wouldn't have an adverse effect but it looks like it sadly has. They really need to get their act together - there's a lot more competition in Banbury now and people are staying away from Que Pasa.

Used to go here when it was the Toad. Manager and staff were great, eclectic DJ's like Herbaliser, DJ Food and Jazzy B (of Soul2Soul fame) used to frequent here. It used to be the only place to go and get away from the 'Banbury Massive' losers that drink in town but now it's where they all go thanks to its gaudy design and dreadful management. Whatever happened to the lot that used to run it? Drink selection has always been quite poor and food abysmal but the atmosphere has gone from cool and funky to R n' B - thats rubbish n borin', like the music.

What a dive! Thankful I got out of Banbury, but when I return to see mates they still go here are it is still as bad as ever. You are sober by the time you get served and to pay to get in rips it. Rumour has itthey once attempted to bring a credible DJ here, but he was arrested for induldging in a little "herbal therapy" - says it all really.

awful. awful when it was the toad, awful now. And you have to pay almost a tenner to get through the doors on a saturday night! But then there isn't a great deal of choice for a drink after midnight. This is on par with the Sound Exchange and 52's or whatever it's called. Guff.

Kids scene, pick up a piece of skirt pub. Pay to get in, loud music, vertical drinking and dance floor. Handy for food during the day, just not my type of place.

A great place to spend a Friday or Saturday night - really nice atmosphere, hardly ever see any trouble despite going virtually every weekend. Good when it was the Toad, too. Music's okay, bar staff are lovely (shout out to Sam), and the girls are cute. I was worried when I heard Que Pasa had taken it over as I thought it may lose it's Toad charm but they've done well to keep it. Many a happy night in here - many more to come I'm sure. One bad point - they need more bar staff. To wait 15 - 20 mins to get served is a regular occurence and frankly is a joke.

One of the latest pubs in Banbury to convert to the continental cafe bar feel during the day. Had a look at the menu which is extensive. I haven't sampled the food yet personally but I have it on good authority that it is very good. Good range of beer's to chose from but as it thinks it's a night club at night not that cheapest. Certainly wouldn't pay 7 to get in !!!

This is definitely a Jekyl and Hyde place;
Its a great place to go during the day or any other night than a Saturday night.
Good choice of drinks if a little expensive, gorgeous look since it's re-fit, good food and management who obviously care a great deal about it.
Great seating arrangements too in 4 or 5 different places - something to suit everyone.
However, the 2 main problems that brought down "The Toad" still exist and it mainly happens on a Saturday night; by the time you get to and from the toilet, you have to go again. Its just too far away.
And secondly, it suffers with the same problem as other Banbury pubs, it's too small and on Saturday night you just cannot move and for 7 entry, you would hope for better.
Go any other time than a Saturday and you'll have a good time.
One final positive, it also has an excellent and well priced range of non-alcoholic cocktails for the "designated drivers" among us.
