Now renamed as East Village (very NY I know) but the post below is, I am certain, still fairly accurate.

Soul-less is definately a term that fits this place. Arrogant and superficial (can it be the waiters who seem to be too busy chatting than to serve you) or the clientele. Some friend and I ended up upstairs apparently to a private party (though there was no bouncer or sign to indicate otherwise) and after about ten minute a very arrogant girl started shouting that people in her party (that according to her she had paid a good price to rent that area) complained that "intruders" were squatting and they told us very rudely to go NOW!

That's the type of customners they have...

It really doesn't belong to Shoreditch with all it s laidback bars and good atmosphere.

I found it quite different to some of the average ratings. Had one or two cracking nights there. Quiet, but really smart early in the week. Busy and music led at weekends.

Pricey drinks and surly service.

Wall to wall Essex boys and girls last weekend - won't be going back

Utterly Soul-less in every way.
Medicine should stick to Islington, as their particular brand of unimaginative clubbing doesn't have a place in Shoreditch.

Have never once seen a local in this bar.

A newer cousin of the Islington one, I was slightly wary of the place before I went, given the comments about the other place. However, it was a friend's birthday and so had to go. Basically a complete let down.

As with the other one, it would seem the bar staff have all been smopking weed before they serve...I've had quicker service in a French McDonald's!

The music was appalling, on both floors...both playing very poor R&B type crap which only grates on the ears after half an hour.

And when we got fed up and left at 11, let's not forget the 45 minute coat queue, as they had, in their wisdom, gigen each coat a ticket, but just hung them up anywhere in no particualr order...to the point I ended up going in to get my own.

What a shambles!

I give it 1 point because there were one or two nice women in there.

Avoid!!
