Pub has picked up again. Very obliging staff, capable of pulling a pint correctly. Fabulous Pedigree. Good chef cooked food.

Another wonderful proper pub in the Amber Valley. More foody than the Holbrook area pubs, but the Pedigree was served gorgeously flat on handpump and worth a very long trip for. Great allround pub.

Me and my party 4 in total made a visit to the Old Yew Tree Inn in South Wingfield again. All my party were very impressed by the variety and quality of food. We all had steak which was very tender and well cooked. We then looked at the dessert menu which has started to include for homemade desserts which wonderful. We also choose the house red which was extermely good. All my party said it was a very good choice and would be going again. I would defianetly book on a friday night as the early bird was full booked and so was the late time.

I recently visited the Old Yew Tree inn 2 weeks ago, Me and my party have been extremley impressed by both the food which was amazing and the beer. It was so nice to have fresh food produce and not a microwave meal like most chain pubs. We have been so impressed by this pub we have booked to eat again. Its defiantely worth a visit.

The Yew Tree has sadly gone down hill, both in terms of the beer and the food. My wife had a Sunday lunch which she says was the worst she had ever had, and the beer is becoming consistently poor.

Apparently just changed hands a few weeks ago but still lived up to expectations. Good food from very extensive menu topped off with a couple of pints of real ale. A good find which I'm sure we will be revisiting soon.

what fantastic food, the duck was out of this world. the staff are the most helpful and useful that I have met in any pub or restaurant.
I have a couple of food allergies and nothing seemed too much trouble. they cook food from scratch so it comes just as you want it. they also offered me alternatives hat weren't on the menu and it was the best experience of a meal out I have had in years.

A perennial favourite that has not disappointed yet. Well-kept (if small) range of real ales. Extensive menu and well-cooked food. Friendly landlord who spent years in Thailand so the Thai food section of the menu is real and authentic, using original ingredients imported direct. Strongly recommended, but go soon because it's up for sale.

called into the " old yew tree inn "in south wingfield, And what a pleasnt suprise, a real old country pub, fantastic food, a very large menu, lots of interesting food, try the moroccan lamb tagine, it is the best i have tasted, also mussels suberb, had a good range of " real ales" tried ...what the foxes is that?, a good old ale, the pub has a good friendly feel about it, the owners, on duty, were welcoming, and showed me the file containg all the recent investigation into all the HAUNTINGS, yes a haunted pub for real
try it its one of a few like it left...

Real Ale, real fire, Chef's home made food, privately owned free house, full of character, haunted.
A real pub atmosphere with excellent food and hosts.
