user reviews of the Crown Hotel, Framlingham

please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

Popped in for a pint over the weekend...dissapointed enough to only see Greedy King IPA and Ruddles (ruined by GK) County on, but infact they wern't even available (do bar staff not know how to change a barrel?). The building itself has the potential to be fantastic but it lacked something, I don'think enough thought went into the layout....for instance a large light hanging in the window! Surely the main purpose of a window is to allow light in? Anyway had an Aspalls out of some nancy San Miguel goblet glass and some expensive (multipack - not to be sold separately) crisps.

The place really lacked atmosphere. There was only one other couple.
The lunch was not bad. The service left a little to be desired.
As to the beer, quite a selection of lagers, but on the "real" front, GK IPA and Ruddles County, not too exciting. The Ruddles was fairly good, though. A return visit? Unlikely.

More out dated comment. A recent change of ownership of this bussiness has seen a lot of change. They now appear to want run this Hotel as a Pub but with hotel prices! The quality of the beer and the food leaves a lot to be desired

Thank god this great hotel caters for family trade and does not pander to the usual younsters who seem only to have a good time when everyone else is having a bad time due to their loud and rude behaviour. Prices are actually amongst the cheapest in Framlingham, and the customer loyalty card gets you another 20 pence off a pint of well kept Greene King beers.

Aesthetically pleasing, but don't be fooled! Hunt a bit harder for Framlingham's real jewells! Bere is overpriced... Whenever you wish to have a session you are frowned upon by residents of the hotel! Fine on a cold day for an afternoon sharpener. Worth a miss on a weekend!

Average in every way, but a nice watering hole for an alternative.

Great pub bar in a beautiful town centre setting selling Greene King Ales which are always well kept. A very good range of bar food is also available.
