A fairly unasumming pub from the outside, looks like a normal pub. Inside its warm and friendly, the staff are very friendly and willing to help. Food is good pub food, the lasagne is yummy. A pub with good craic! Certainly be visiting again.

One if the worst pubs that I have ever been to. No one was at the bar & in fact no one was in the whole place. A lady came out the back & served us for our drinks (Rip off prices for 2 cokes - 7). Gave us a few menuss and told us to sit down anywhere & someone would be with us soon. We sat down waiting half an hour for someone to serves us, but obviously talking about what they was going to do for the night was more important than serving customers. Completely avoid unless you want service as snail pace.

Saturday evening and just got back from the Reindeer. had a really lovely meal. Food was very good, service was what I would call relaxed, we did not feel rushed at all. Overall a very enjoyable experience, would definitely recommend this place.

TRIED THE REINDEER FOR THE SECOND TIME LAST NIGHT AND IT WAS VERY GOOD. DARREN THE MANAGER, AND PETER THE HEAD CHEF & OWNER WERE ON DAYS OFF SO I WAS QUITE DUBIOUS AS TO HOW GOOD IT WOULD BE- BUT PETER OBVIOUSLY HAS A GOOD NUMBER TWO AND THE FOOD WAS VERY GOOD, ALTHOUGH THE VEG WAS NOT AS GOOD AS PETER WOULD HAVE DONE IT. I LIKE MY VEG 'AL DENTE'- AS IT WAS ON MY FIRST VISIT, BUT IT WAS A BIT TOO OVERCOOKED FOR ME LAST NIGHT. MAYBE IT WOULD BE A GOOD IDEA TO ASK CUSTOMERS WHEN THEY ARE ORDERING "DO YOU LIKE YOUR VEG 'AL DENTE' OR 'WELL COOKED' - JUST A SUGGESTION.
THE ASPARAGUS AND SERRANO HAM SALAD STARTER WAS FANTASTIC (REALLY FANTASTIC), MY DUCK MAIN COURSE WAS LOVELY TOO (VERY SLIGHTLY OVERCOOKED THAN I REQUESTED), AND THE STELLA WAS SUPERB.

I am pleased to see that the last 2 reviews of the Reindeer are accurate. The ones left by 'pubexpert2008' and 'miah' describe a place unrecognisable to me as my local, which The Reindeer is.

Pubexpert describes the Reindeer's burgers as 'frozen'. Not much of an expert then because Pete hand makes them himself on the premises! I know this as it was myself who first requested Pete put a burger on the menu as my partner's teenage son virtually eats nothing else. That's how accomodating Pete, Denise and their staff are. They come in 2 sizes but beware of the large one it's awesome!

Myself I love what I call Pete's 'Orgasmic Scallops'.They come in a skillet with a tangy sauce and as a starter or a main, there is plenty of fresh bread to dip as you will not want to wast any sauce. Same goes for the Mussels.

The Sunday Carvery is the finest I have ever had. The derogatory comments should not put anyone off, try it for yourself. The vegetable selection is vast and changes most weeks. There was even Asparagus on last week. I love the courgettes in tomato and the cheesy garlic potatoes. When peas are on they are always fresh and green whereas I have been to other places where they look almost grey. The meat is never 'overcooked' in my opinion. It just is not that sort of place!

Also I think it shows how well run the Reindeer is that they are able to offer the A La Carte menu on at the same time as the Carvery. There is an extensive wine menu too. Pete and Denise have lived in Spain and I feel the main menu has a mediterranen influence. Obligingly though you have a vast lunch menu and now an early doors menu with some good Old English favourites like Faggots or Ham and Eggs.

Sometimes there are Motown Nights or Ratpack, Irish etc with live entertainment. You ought to see the hot and cold Buffets that Pete and the team put on. Great night out!

Well I guess you all know I love it there now and I am very lucky to live within walking distance! I will say three last words; Sticky Toffee Pudding.....you gotta try it!!!!

For anyone looking for decent food and a welcome atmosphere then you really should give this place a visit. Denise and Peter are the perfect hosts and really make you feel at home. Living not too far away we have the good fortune to be able to visit plenty of excellent food establishments, but I have to say, that after several visits we have never had a bad meal. The Sunday Carvery is the best in the area and a lot of our visitors ask to go back there...so can't be bad!

'MONDAY 9th JUNE, 2008'

I'D HEARD AND READ SOME MIXED REVIEWS ON THIS ESTABLISHMENT, AND AS I WAS IN THE AREA AND HUNGRY, THOUGHT I WOULD GIVE IT A SHOT.
I ARRIVED AT c8.30pm AND WANTED A REASONABLY QUICK MEAL BEFORE HEADING HOME - THE SERVICE ALL EVENING WAS EXTREMELY EFFICENT AND REASONABLY QUICK CONSIDERING THEY HAD ABOUT 30 DINERS IN ALL MORE OR LESS AT THE SAME TIME.
I DINE REGULARLY AT A LOT OF THIS ESTABLISHMENTS COMPETITORS, AND WAS PLEASANTLY SUPRISED TO SEE DARREN WHO HAD RUN THE FRONT OF HOUSE SERVICE AT THE NEARBY CROSS KEYS IN OMBERSLEY RUNNING THE FRONT OF HOUSE HERE, I KNEW THAT IF DARREN WAS WORKING HERE THEN THE PLACE CAN'T BE ALL THAT BAD.
FIRSTLY - I HAD ONE OF THE NICEST PINTS OF STELLA THAT I'D HAD IN A VERY LONG TIME....PERFECT.
SECONDLY - I ORDERED A MAIN COURSE BELLY PORK (c 11.95) WHICH WAS COOKED WITH CHILLI, GINGER, PAK CHOI, MUSHROOMS, & 4 PIECES OF PORK CRACKLING ETC... ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS AND A GREAT PORTION SIZE TOO. DON'T CALL ME "SAD" THOUGH, BUT THE HIGHLIGHT OF THE MEAL FOR ME WAS HOW THE VEGETABLES WERE COOKED. I WAS PRESENTED WITH A SMALL SIDE DISH OF SUGAR SNAP PEAS, RED CABBAGE, CAULIFLOWER, AND BROCCOLI - THE CAULI AND BROCC BEING COOKED 'AL DENTE' AND ABSOLUTELY EXCELLENT.
I DIDN'T REALLY HAVE TIME FOR ANY FURTHER COURSES, BUT I WILL CERTAINLY GO BACK FOR A 'RETAKE'.
AND FINALLY- AFTER CLEARING MY PLATE COMPLETELY I WENT STRAIGHT TO THE BAR TO SETTLE MY ACCOUNT (AS I HAD TO GET HOME) AND HAD THE HONOUR OF CHATTING WITH PETER WHO IS THE OWNER AND HEAD CHEF, HE KNOWS HIS STUFF, AND DOES IT FROM THE HEART - YOU CAN TELL. SO, I THANKED HIM, PAID MY BILL AND HEADED HOME....SURE TO RETURN.
I FEEL THAT I CAN RECOMMEND THIS ESTABLISHMENT BECAUSE I SPENT 20 YRS IN THE TRADE UNTIL RECENTLY.... AND I TOO KNOW MY STUFF, AND I AM QUITE HARD TO PLEASE, SO WELL DONE TO ALL AT THE REINDEER.

Very poor pub, i don't really know what their trying to do. It still feels like an old bank's pub, but now they rip you off for you frozen burger and chips! Went for a carvery one sunday,my advice would be give it a miss.

i say this has to be one of the best restaurants i have been to in my life, not only was the food and service excellent but also the restaurants atmosphere, music and decor are all superb. My wife and i went to the reindeer a few weeks back we had a fantastic time i had to start the mussuls followed by the duck, both dishes enriched with flavours. Id defiently recomend this to anyone passing buy that way.

I found this pub to be rather disappointing. I visited it on a sunday lunchtime for the carvery. The meat was all rather overcooked and all the vegetables had obviously been sitting keeping warm for a long time. I had heard the food here was ok and think the carvery is only served on sundays so perhaps it is better on other days of the week.
