the actual place is alright, although drinks arent that cheap. the doormen are horrible though, have bad attitudes and a 'if i feel like it' policy towards letting people in. they really let the place down

The best place in Solihull by a long long way, and always will be. Great music, cheap drinks, great atmosphere, lots of cavorting, a proper down to earth place! Rock on Barley Mow!!!

I think whilst the pub is ok but its rather full of single men who look like they havnt seen a woman in years, men might boooo at this but the women reading this will know EXACTLY what i mean.

Great pub. You do have to pay 5 to get in, but that is only after 9.30pm, but its worth it. Excellent atmosphere. Really down to earth place, regulars are friendly, and its just a great night out!

Big it up for the Barley Mow FC (Dean, Matt, Luke, Sniff, Andy, Craig, Karl, Carl, Dave.S, Dave.P and Big Dean), hopefully they will finally gain promotion for the second time this season into Division 4. Keep up the good work lads.

The Boss Man.

Totally agree, a great night out on a Friday, good atmosphere, everyone is always up for a laugh, thats why the place is always rammed. During the day, the Barley provides good old pub grub, and its nice and chilled out. People slate the place, but these people still turn up every week, reason being is they really do like the place but won't admit it!!! Big it up for the 'Barley Boys' Footy Team, promotion here we come! (again!)

Great night out here at the improved Barley Mow since the old bouncers have been replaced! The Bar staff are great, excellent music, the atmosphere is electric, the regulars are friendly and look out for the 'Barley Legends', Luke, Sniff, Matt, Hunty, Dean, Andy H, Andy S, Wayne, Noggy, Paget, there such a good laugh! - from the Barley Girls

Everybody is moaning on here about the decor! GUESS WHAT??? THEY HAVE RE-DECORATED THE GAFF! All they have done is paint the walls white, but at least its an improvement! You dont need to drink to get drunk, the paint fumes should do that!

Well, everyone bangs on about the decor and so on (It could do with a bit of 'tarting' up), but who cares about that when you are in a place that provides good music, atmosphere (Friday's is the best night), and everyone gets on well. The Bar Staff are friendly, so are the regulars and the drinks are fairly cheap. Well the place seems to make a lot of money so its good the drinks are cheap! Just don't cross the bouncers, who provide over the top heavy arm tactics when there is absolutely no need for them too. This is the only thing that lets the Barley down. They do make you feel uncomfortable in there at times. But overall, a good night out. If you can't get in, the only other alternative is Reflex on the High Street.

If your going to solihull then this is the place to be. I would say go on a friday because its brilliant music, great atmosphere and full of TALENT!!! Everyone is friendly in there and all up for a good laugh. Ladies make sure your in there fridays and not saturdays. Its full of john co**s on saturday night. Ave it!!!

Used to work here. Yeah the decors dodgy and that but the staff are great and only return abuse every so often which isn't surprising when you consider how busy the place gets, how much is hurled at them, in bucket loads. However all the regulars are polite and most the people who slate the place can be seen there the very next week.

Used to be a fun night out but not these days. Full of old men and old slappers. Atmosphere non
existent. Music dire.
There are plenty of pubs in Solihull opne till 1am so no point in wasting your money paying to get into this dump.
Its a desperate place.
Take our advice and avoid it.

Barley Mow - well what can I say.......Fab night out everytime I go in there (which is most weekends) Sunday Fever is wicked. Yeah it's not got the best decor but hey, it's dark in there, who really cares??? Bar staff are real friendly, especially the lads!!!! Drink could be cheaper but not a big problem! Overall fab & funky !!!!

the barley has slowly got worse, i used to go there every weekend - it was better when the dance floor was at the front of the pub, pre 1995, dj's are bad now, was much better with frankie 'v' none of the old regulars bother with it now & i dont blame them! what used to be a good friday & saturday night is now a load of rubbish, bring back the 'old' barley!

I have been observing the slow decline of this pub over the past 12 years now. I am relieved to hear that it isn't just me who thinks this place is now the pits. I used to go here a lot over the weekend, it was busy, friendly and fun - this was a long time ago. Now I am embarrassed to say I used to drink in there. Last time I went in, the clientele were of the lowest standard, with, what I strongly suspect to be under age drinkers, some in corners practically having sex! Dark, dingey, dirty, out dated, expensive drinks and absolutely no class or style whatsoever. What a shame!

Waste of Space was "The place" last century I also got refused early on a Friday evening on my wifes 35th birthday when friends where inside and we wanted to meet before meal! When refused door would not give name of owners as I was going to complain The Saddlers Arms round the corner where great so it was their loss!

I love this place. It is a complete dump but it`s always a guaranteed laugh. I`ve never seen any trouble there and I`m in there every week. Sundays are particularly good fun.

Not a great pub. Shoddy range of beers, not much atmosphere. % quid diposit on the pool cues and 1.50 a play on a talb ethat isn't even level and only held together by the grace of God. Food was OK but a bit pricey.
