Great old pub on the green but unfortunately the clientle swim in the shallow end of the gene pool.

I felt grubby after I had been there 10 mins. - and this is from a guy who has drunk in some VERY dodgy East End pubs. Unfortunately we Brummies do down at heel very well.

If it wasn't for welfare benefits and the drug trade I guess most Birmingham city pubs would close down for lack of income.

laaavly little place for a right old tear up, me and a few of the boys landed in there from the manor 15 handed, ad a few sherberts, next thing i kno if got sum c*** lookin like maggie thatcher givin it the peek a boo, so ive gone over and grabbed him by the bollox, left his mouf lookin like a fackin piaaana.

other than that the staff were very friendly, food delicious and the background music and lighting absolutly perfect.

Timothy Taylor Landlord on cask - other beer prices very competitive. Barmaid on Saturday afternoon very good. Seem to be serving a lot of food.

lovely pub in lovely location but unfortunalty has bad management if you was to go there on a saturday night there is numerous fights and numerous under age drinkers, what a shame as this pub should be a lovely local pub, have lived in kings norton for 15 years and would never go in that pub ever again and the food is awful.

Lovely old building right on the historic green of Kings Norton. Trouble is, it's full of life forms that you really wouldn't want to drink with!!

I hope the below posters' experience was a one-off and not indicative of the way things are now, because my appearances here last year were all broadly positive. Sensibly partitioned when you get in between main eating area, and the 'traditional' standing area with TV out back - which helps depending on what you're looking for. Sunday lunch very much 'pub'-Sunday lunch yes, but well portioned, cooked and priced. They can pour Bombardier properly too, AND plenty of grassland around to walk all it off on.

I went there this lunchtime and ordered a beefburger and salad, and this was the most disgusting meal I have ever laid eyes on. The salad was old, it had brown bits at the edges, the burger was hard.
When I went to ask for a refund the older women dressed in black said they they don't give refund. I was ashamed to have entered through the front door and I was confused why they call this a hostelry with bad food, bad attitude, and bad staff, the only way is
bankruptcy, I pity the manager and the licensee. God bless the Navigaton Pub across the way in Kings Norton, Good food, friendly staff.
