user reviews of the Pittodrie Bar, Aberdeen

please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

Came in on the way to the match. Being a Sunday lunchtime kick off the pub was busy but not too rammed.

Large oval shaped bar in the middle of the pub with plenty of standing room with the pool table pushed under the large screen to create more space.

Usual lagers and creamy beers on pump.

A proper bar and perfect for the football.

My review is a little "late". I used to frequent this pub back in 2010/11. A true "local" where local people would meet and discuss things, as well as a stopping off point for those going to, and from the football. Excellent bar manager (Alex) - and as in the top 100 pubs in the whole of the UK in the Famous Grouse reviews. Decent range of beer, and reasonable prices.

On the downside it didn't have food (would have been 9 or more if it did). The only other downside is that Alex was talking of retiring in May 2011, and without his guiding hand, there is no telling what would happen. But it was (and hopefully still is) a great place - exactly what a real pub should be.

Good bar. Had some great times here before and after Aberdeen games. Very welcoming and good juke box too.

Taken over a couple of years ago by a guy who actually has an interest in Aberdeen Football Club, an effort has been made with a few programmes and pennants, along with drawings of Dons players old and new running all the way around the bar, friendly staff, good crowd of people, especially on match days and not too expensive. All in all TOP PUB!!!!
