Its closed for good and its being turned into flats and when i found out, I clapped My Hands with Joy and besides shows you how good the new management were as they only lasted for 3 months.... ""Sorry We were Open " was the apt Name when It was Open, and They will Never reopen it and Ive read the notices On the window, so take no notice of what anyone else says about it being reopened, because the whole Building is going to be bulldozed to rubble very soon

Here we go again making up lies about me thats not true. What the stupid woman is not telling you is shes still kept the same staff who are Pig Ignorantly rude to their customers Namely One Member of staff Does her name ring any Bells??? The Beer is still Overpriced and maybe explains why Its empty in there most of the time, I would tell anyone just drive past the place and observe. The food I cant comment on as I wouldnt touch this pub with a bargepole, the person thats wrote this and bringing my name into a bad light has a family Member whos led me a campaign of harrassment for 5 years, and had me assaulted 2 years ago from scum from this pub and is a Police informer, who is a sub contractor for the karaoke at this pub. As Regrds the food it was a rip off when the two previous lesbians run it and no doubt its just as bad now. I`m Not Homophobic, but when I read this crap shes put on..

Much improved since new landlord took over

They are damn right rude to all their customers, If You dare complain about anything The landlady by the name of Michelle Bartholomew Is a Bad tempered Woman with a Real Attitude. Most Of The Local Shops Hate her because she is blatantley Ignorant. The Pubs Bar Prices are well Over the top 4.50 for a pint of beer. Their Food is daylight Ripp Off Like her beer, well o.t.t. If You dare complain youre told by Michelle bartholomew "Theres the door" Or If They Know where you Live they`ll pay you a visit and give you a good hiding just like they did to me. Her food Is not up to standard and her staff are also as equally as rude as what the management are. The Entertainment Is rubbish aswell too loud and Michelle Bartholomew has just Ignored All her neighbours requests to keep the music down. If You dont Believe Me go and see for yourselves, You`ll soon Make a sharp exit

The new Sunday carvery is superb. Very nice

Good pub. Excellent food, and good value for money. Sunday dinner is A1. Landlady makes you feel welcome, but she does not stand for any bad behavior, she will tell you exactly what she thinks, and her staff are friendly. Probably one of the best pubs in the Beckenham area.

The Sunday roast is definitely worth a look in, i do love a bit of roast beef. Mmmmm!
With the food being home cooked the menu looks even more appealing.

I'd say more but Carling below seems to have summed the pub up quite nicely. :)

With a lovely beer garden and designated under canopy smoking area, its good for everyone any time of the year.
Inc. well behaved dogs and children :) :)

I frequently pop in this pup and I have to say that it is the best pub in the area for for and drink. It is competitively priced and the food is all home cooked by the two land ladies.
The pub is a free house and child friendly, well behaved dogs are welcome as well. There is a decent sized garden at the rear with well kept flower beds, also a large car park which is secure if you would like to leave your car over night.

One of the last remaining good pubs in the area and the best for food by far.

I sometimes frequent this pub when I'm not at the Pawleyne arms (across the road). I have never had a problem with it , good ales , very good food

Its the pub of choice when my wife wants a drink and a meal, i would recc this pub for the exact same. I have never been here late at night when I hear all the "lunatics" come out.

I went into this pub on a lovely sunny Saturday while out walking....
The staff were very friendly , the beer garden was very nice and the beer was very cold , they do grub but I wasnt hungry.....

I will gladly be dropping back to this nice pub ........

I like this pub, has always been my local and worked there collecting glasses when i was 13. Management have totally changed it around and i think they have done a blinding job with it. When you look back and see what it was and what it is now its a major improvement!

I went there on a saturday night and it was pretty dead and empty. Wouldn't bother going there again, a shame as it's the only pub in the area and it's easy to get to as it's on both the 194 and 358 bus routes.

Indeed, after the new management took over the place has taken a turn for the better. Sundays are heaving. The roasts are fantastic.
Having a bus stop right outside makes the pub easily accessable from the areas of croydon and bromley.
Ace Place, really nice food (large portions) and the management are much better than the previous.
Its a shame it was known previously as a bit of a downer pub, but now. MUCH BETTER!
Having been to a few of the events, i got to say, they get a good crowd!

Pretty terrible pub. Feels like a chain and has no character whatsoever. Bit grubby with charmless staff. Get on the bus and go elsewhere.
juliatheakston - 31 Jul 2005 17:53
The only pub in this area, surrounded by homes, and yet it is half empty and has no charm whatsoever.
A most depressing place and the owners could be making a mint, if they only took some care to make the place nice. Some people just don`t like to make money, I guess.
walklim - 8 Apr 2005 09:42
It's been local to me for years and has had some ups and downs (lots of downs!!). But now, under new Management it is on the up and is a great boozer that also does good honest food!
