user reviews of the Crown, Bridgnorth

please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

Modern pub attracting a youngish crowd. Step inside and you could be in any chain pub on any High Street in England. Fills a niche I suppose, for locals who want that sort of thing, but don't bother with it if you're visiting the town - You can get the 'Crown experience' back home. Try one of the proper pubs that are all within a few hundred yards of this place.

Large L shaped drinking barn, a bit of a Wetherspoonalike with 2 meals for 5.99 etc, only it doesn't sell cask ale. Lounge area at the front, massive TV screen at the back. Watched the England vs Ukraine match here on Wednesday. Won't be going in again unless there's another big match on though as it's pretty poor really.

New manager. Atmosphere slightly improved, fewer chavs.

Flat warm draught. Disinterested staff. Crap food.

if it was any good it would be busy!!! is it busy these days? hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm? well, y'know, it aint is it!

while you can have a good time anywhere, its always so much easier in a nice environment. if the environment didnt matter, we'd all still be drinking 20/20 in the park!

The Crown is a fab place to go if you want a really good night out and one of the few places in the area you can get all glammed up for!
By day it's a spacious, light, contemporary pub with a chilled and relaxed vibe, then on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights it transforms into a funky little club with a jumping vibe, spinning disco house, club classics and R'n'B.
There are always cool new people in there to chat to, bar staff are really friendly (which is quite rare these days!) and on Friday and when you've had enough of bopping along on the dance floor there's a cool patio outside with a seperate beer tent.
Some complain about the Crown's entrance fee but tend to forget it IS free to get into before 9pm, and after that time it's only 2, which is hardly extortionate!!
Plus if you want somewhere with a clubby vibe where you can dance 'til 2am, you'd have to go out of town which would cost at least 30 for the taxi, so y'know!
As for anything else, nights out wherever you go are always what you make them - those who are up for a good time will have it and those who are moaning and miserable about everything generally won't!
It's a cool place, try it for yourself! x

A would-be-club that fails terribly. When you finally get served the beer is overpriced and often of a very poor quality.

There are many fantastic pubs in Bridgnorth; avoid this one and go else where.

Great meals during the day.
Great Entertainment at night.
The only bar in Bridgnorth open until 1am.
