The worst place to try and go in stockton. I tryed to enter with trainers after seeing lads go in with them on. Only to get up 2 steps and have a very horrible eveil doorman to drag me by my arm pulling me twisting my ankle and getting told no trainers. When i said there just gone in he turned around and said not your trainers. Then i walked off when i tryed to make a complaint to the manager only to get told just leave it and the manager was so rude and lack of customer service skills and i am still waitinf for head office to get back to me 2 weeks later. DO NOT TRUST THIS BAR OR THE DOOR STAFF

Dont like the place the doorstaff leave a lot to be desired , they should do there job not strut about mouthing off to people!

great pub to visit on a saturday , get in before ten then you wont have to wait in queue . yeah is mainly older people but hey we need somewhere to hang out and 30" to 40" aint what i call old .great music not so bad bar staff and i aint had any problems with door men so give it a try .

Nice pub but always a queue. When u get in there expect to see your nana and grandad. Its packed but no-where to sit. Boring after one drink. Full of mams n dads dancing embarissingly and 40-60 year olds getting of with each other. Door lads are nice. Male bar staff are nice (especially anth), female bar staff come across as hard faced bitches! Dont recommend for young people.

Great place to go on a saturday night, play brillant music, that suits variuos ages, staff are brillant aswell, although its a battle to get to the bar at times but part fromt that a brill place

this pub is the best in stockton for atmosphere. the music isnt to my taste but i can live with it. anyway with the odd exception none of the other pubs in the high street are any better music wise. the bar staff are good in the sense that they seem to try and serve people in order. the issue that was previously mentioned about bouncers letting people jump the queue still happens sometimes. i am curious why we now see the male staff stripping while the female staff are more covered up than a granny in winter. i saw a feature on local news not too long ago about a bar in newcastle. they also have the staff dancing on the bar. the difference is they were wearing bikinis and not dark bagging clothes. saturday is the best with more of a mix of age groups. friday tends to have mainly older people in there. it is the best pub in stockton but it can be improved and it doesnt have much competition.

Goldies bar is a fantastic friendly bar , recently started doing karaoke on a thursday night , as a karaoke dj myself and a singer and also a bii qualified licensee without a pub at present i must say that management are very warm and make you feel very welcome show respect and deserve the same respect back, as far as warm beer goes well i have never had a warm pint in there yet , so if anyone else has then it is obviously cos the glasses are fresh from the glasswash and having worked with them type of washers it gets very hot hence the fact most bar girls tie thier hair up cos straightening it would ba a waste of time it would be a frizzy barnet after 2 mins of hovering over the glass wash machine very very hot stuff as donna summer did once sing xxxxxxxx truly great bar and as a massive fan of the 80,s decade goldies memorobillia on the pub walls is enough to keep me happy its fantastic xxxxx

Hello, just want to make some comments about this bar, i know how Ian feels about the music, but customers want the best hits and best hits we have to play because its what they want, all with the beer being warm is rubbish, that will be because of the glasses being warm from just being washed and put straight back out with strong demand. bouncers is another matter sadly the management carnt be every where at all times but this matter will be dealt with soon.

most of the bar staff are really friendly and good looking. there are two girls who dance on the bar who are really fit the best pub in teeside great music great management great door staff great night!!!!!!!!!!!!

On a Saturday night, the music is too repetitive, same tracks every week. The queue to enter is not managed properly by the bouncers. They let in their favourites all the time to the annoyance of the people in the queue. The beer could be a little cooler but this has improved in recent months, probably with the onset of cooler weather. The toilets are clean. Bar staff reasonably efficient. Manager friendly.
