An evening visit to this friendly local found the beer in excellent condition. Worthing's Best Bitter (ABV 4%) from the Littlehampton based Anchor Springs Brewery was a very tasty starter. Harveys Dark Mild followed which was in fine condition. Sharp's Doom Bar was also sampled and up to scratch. Also available - Harveys Best Bitter and Bass. A pleasant evening in comfortable surroundings with a great range of top notch ales.

Had a social evening there and the buffet was excellent. A great spread. Doombar was absolutely wonderful. Not chilled and few bubbles, just how it should be. Very attentive staff with quick and friendly service. A really good evening in a really good pub.

Visited with my wife for a Sunday roast. Can you believe seven vegetables!! obviously fresh and not from the freezer. We both had pork, yes with crackling, it was cooked to perfection.
What value at 6.95 each......we had no room for a sweet even though the offers were very tempting.
A thoroughly pleasant visit with friendly staff and landlord, who greeted just about everybody who arrived, whether he knew them as a regular or not. We will definitely return.

Nice pub with a quirky though impressive setting for the restaurant as mentioned. Shame they removed the bar billiards table.

I can only agree with Zumo and Petebuddle, what a wonderful pub this is. Had an excellent Sunday roast there last weekend, couldn't fault it. Excellent range of ales too, at fair prices. I travel a lot with my work and it is a comfort to me to know that pubs like this still exist. Well done!

Agree with you Petebuddle, excellent pub. Always feel comfortable in there, quiz night is good fun and the Sunday Roast is excellent. Real ales at good prices. Hope they survive, too many proper pubs like this are being killed off.

My partner and I went there for a drink 31/1/10, one of the best pubs I have been lucky enough to find local to where I live - by a LONG mile. Cosy, welcoming, fantastic ales and wonderful company all night means that we will be going back as soon and as often as we can. Keep up the fantastic work!!!

What can we say - its simply THE best ! The food and service is second to none and the whole dining experience is outstanding from the moment you step inside the door & walk down into their Train Carriage. The standard and presentation of the food is out of this world in fact we put it on a par with a recent Royal Caribbean Cruise we were on ! The staff greated us with a smile & nothing you ask is too much trouble. A truely beautiful setting for a restaurant and once inside the ambience and decor is exceptional. Once you have visited you will vow to return as we ourselves intend to do as soon as possible.
