I work at this pub

Apart from the terrible slave wages,
Lack of organisation, and lateness of serving food

I would probably eat here if was with someone to take advantage of the 2for1 as the food tastes great and looks nice

But the part about the screaming children etc, i would rather go to a place with less people for a quiet meal.

Other than that, good pub (Y)

Garbage, enough said.

From the outside it looks like a nice place, once inside however, (especially on a Sunday) you are met with the type of atmosphere synonimous with 'Brewers Fayre' type pubs - everyone eating, kids throwing food everywhere and squaking to high heaven etc.

Make sure you use the two for one offer on food as it is only worth half the price, if that.

There is no excuse for poor food, especially in a pub that is based around food rather than beer.

Go there if:
You can't be bothered to cook and are in an even numbered party to take advantage of 'two for one'.

Go elswhere if:
You want real home coooked food and real ale in a traditional pub environment.

Once again onesexylady - get a life!

You need a bank loan to be able to afford to eat here, so I don't care how extensive the menu is. Was brought here by my girlfriend & when the food finally came, I wondered where the rest of it was! Not exactly the best start either cos the beer was dreadful - had to take mine back twice & settled on a glass of water.

Go to The Maltshovel instead -it's cheaper, better food, company & beer

There is an extensive 2 for 1 menu here, all the main meals are included, all day every day! and there was plenty of veggie choice and lots of nice puds. The atmosphere was OK, we did go on a monday evening so it was fairly quiet. The staff were friendly and I don't really have an opinion about the chairs (:>) I'd certainly go there again. and by the way Seymour - there were at least 2 stunning women in there last night :>)

Firstly I and the other people that were eating with me all commented on just how uncomfortable the chairs were, and as the night went on they felt even worse. I tried the steak, it was very nicely cooked and the price is very good if you share with someone having the same at 2 for the price of 1. We had a vegetarian in our group and it was extremely dissapointing to find absolutely all of the desserts contain animal fats, not even 1 dessert suitable for vegetarians which I thought was particulary bad. It spoilt the meal really. The main menue did not have very much choice for vegetarians either. I will not go there again because of the lack of vegetarian choice

Upmarket travel lodge type pub. Meals vary from good to average. More geared towards meals and hosting guests. Used to be known as The Blue Boar and hosted a trendy disco with lots of stunning women. Where did all these venues go?? Why did landlords throw away their busineses? Do brewery chains have any idea how to run a pub chain? answers on a postcard please
