Home of the Redscar brewery. Normally two or three of their beers on. A bit of a schlep out of the town centre but well worth it.

Redcar is real english sh!thole full of the most stupid rednecks I have ever met. Amazingly this pub manages to be good amongst the fog of monkey bile that roam the streets in this northern pit. In a town that is waiting to close I do hope this great pub manages to keep afloat

Best pub by far in Redcar. A traditional old fashioned boozer with v. friendly landlord and landlady and bar staff, the locals are not bad as well. Good live music on Friday and Sunday, food is only served on a Sunday lunch time, but brilliant value at under 3.00. They are going to build an extension to accomodate the smokers, who form the vast bulk of the people who go in there, so they can continue to enjoy this local when this stupid no smoking legislation comes in next year. The Cleveland is lucky to have the space to do so, heaven help those pubs that can't do anything!

i stayed at the cleveland for a couple of weeks, what an enjoyable time i had. the entertainment was excellant, the accomadation was fair but very reasonable only 50 per week.i never had to wait to get served. Going into the bar from the lounge was like entering a different pub with 2 pool tables in constant use and dartboards. the locals were very friendly, talked to me as if i had been a regular for years. there are some very unusual caracters that go into the bar all friendly so don't be affraid

The Cleveland is an excellent pub for individuals and groups alike. The hosts Chris and Lynsdey welcome all stangers and Sunday lunches are extremely cheap ,around 3-00 with generous portions. They also have a website, bands on Friday, quiz Saturday Karaoke Thursday and Sunday and even have hosted debates. A warm welcome I can guarantee from genuine hosts

Good old fashioned traditional friendly local pub, not over priced like sum in Redcar, 1.80 a pint for Carling or Fosters. Sunday Lunch cannot be bettered at 2.75. Good Bands on a Friday night. Well worth a try.
