please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

Tongue And Groove is rubbish. It's full of ignorant dicks that think they're tough. The Management are inconsiderate and impolite. The new staff are poor to say the least. The drinks are overpriced (ITS BRIXTON)! There are always fights and people getting hurt. Lord only knows where they dragged the door staff from because they are really really bad. They can't even keep the assholes from getting in the bar. It's really unsafe, everyone gets mugged, and the place is rife with drug use. Stay out of here. There are plenty more, much better bars like this in London. Try The Six Degrees or 4th Street instead!

Despite the name, this is not a lesbian bar

With new management and new security in place, T&G is alive and kicking.

Staff are friendly and helpful and with a new line up of DJ's playing funky, soulful and sometimes dirty house, it's has a good vibe going on!

With it's late licence (3am Thurs & 5am Fri & Sat) I'll be back there again this weekend.

Went there last Friday after having been down the Dogstar. At first view it looked great..small, cozy and playing thumping music. Nice girls too. But the atmosphere was soon destroyed by the dicks that seem to frequesnt the place. On getting the second drink of the evening I had to squeeze past a guy at the bar who refused to move and just eyeballed me after I politely asked him if I could get past. He then obviously took offence and told his mate who then decided to ask me 'what my f*cking problem was?' standing about two inched from my face. Having done ten years of kickboxing, he was lucky I didn't bash his head off the bar. The mood ruined, I went back to where my mate was and said I wanted to leave. On the way out, another guy was standing in the way of the door. I asked him, again politely to move, and he he shouted "WAIT!" at me. So, fed up, I just pushed past him amnd he went for my throat with his hand...given the height difference he didn't get a good grip and I was out the door before he could have another go.

Shame really..if not for the obviously very small proportion of black idiots in Brixton (I'm not racist, there are equal amounts of white idiots around)the area would have a better reputation than it does.

Would maybe go back if the door staff have a better grip on the idiots going in there.

If you're not from S. London then Brixton may seem a scary place but I'm a regular to this fine establishment and can honestly say that this place is a warm and cosy like an electric blanket on a cold winters nite. The bar staff more or less serve alcohol until no-ones left standing, and that's with all due respect to the dj's, live clarinet / bongo player, MCyer on a sat nite!!! You'll be ripping up the dancefloor and spreading the word! Have fun!

The coolest chill-out scene in South-London. DJs are wicked and slick. Opens late, truly international patronage and beautiful bar staff.

More of a bar than a pub. Visited it when it first opened, and staff didn't have a clue, but this may have improved. A good pre-clubbing location.
