Returned for a family meal. This place is very good. Stunning value for money meals. Fresh vegetables and local meats freshly cooked, with generous servings at very low prices. The staff are friendly and very helpful. The four Brains casks ales are kept in very good condition. There is the main pub building, with a busy bar room, and a more comfortable decent sized front room, a family room extension, bland but workable, a tidy upstairs parlour room, and a marquee added to the extension. Seating outside on our visit was in the shade or alongside the main road. Indeed, the sitting outside experience is not a high point for the pub.

There is a charm about the place, and it works very well for what it is. It is a popular place, and a drawback is that even with four staff behind the bar, queues form as people order drinks and meals and then return to pay for the meals at the same small bar. The women's toilet has a special seat for children, but the men's does not, and the men's toilet smells a bit salty. A positive experience, and certainly a place to recommend for those wanting good value, fresh food and decent cask ales in a warm, friendly and mostly characterful setting.

A decent pint and an EXCELLENT roast on Sundays.
Who cares about 'tables and furniture' or 'bit like a Doctors waiting room'.
Some of you are too precious.

Well, I'm glad gowerglyn enjoys the Pub atmosphere here, but I'm afraid I cannot agree with him. I was there last week, and I stick by what I wrote earlier, I was with a couple of friends from Pennard, and they agree about the place too. They only use it as a last resort to meet people, and on the night we we there, it was empty, and had absolutely NO atmosphere at all, bit like a Doctors waiting room in fact !!!.....

Food is pretty good; beer ok. tables and furniture needs a revamp; greasy varnish feel. uninspiring interior staff were mucking around with customers, shouting , etc, was a bit offputting.Place could be improved, outside garden unpleasant

DuncanDisorderly is talking a load of rubbish, I'm local and I regularly go to the Beaufort for a pint as do many of my neighbours. Lovely atomsphere and the food has always been nice when I've eaten there. There is a good selection of ales and the quiz is a good laugh.

I recently visited Beaufort arms, was very impressed with the pub in general, great atmosphere and great range of Ales to choose from , i have been back to it many times as an after surfing drink.
the food is reasonably priced and you never have to wait too long for it to arrive, the staff are always friendly,
no queries with it, recomend it to anyone passing through Kittle.

I was on a holiday touring around the coast of Wales when I first wandered into the Beaufort arms, and its the only pub that I've visited that I've been back to.
There is such a friendly atmosphere, despite the fact that the pub has always been quite busy the staff are incredibly polite and always made time to had a chat.
The locals, who contrary to the previous reviews love the pub, are also very friendly and were very keen to help me with some advice about the local area.
The food, both times I have visited the Beaufort Arms the food has been absolutely outstanding and I've never had to wait long for the impeccable service.
The second time I visited the Beaufort Arms was a Monday night which is the quiz night at about 2000 the pub filled to capacity with locals who come every monday for the quiz. It was amazing fun.
I look forward to my next visit!!

The most appalling food I have ever eaten. Overpriced, tasteless (a T bone full of gristle and a peppercorn sauce that was a candidate for a trading standards investigation!).
Cleanliness left a lot to be desired. I agree with previous comment "locals avoid this pub like the plague" - I can see why.
To be fair the staff waived the bill (I would not have paid anyway. The beer Rev James was good (the only good thing I can say). Not to be recommended

I visited on a sunday and had lunch there and must say i was impressed for it being a chain pub, The veg was fresh and you had the option of extra yorkshire pudding which i was very happy about!
I shall call again whilst on my travels

Most local people avoid this Pub like the plague, and if you have actually been in there for more than an Hour ( not outside ) you will know why. Typical S.A. Brain boring Pub in fact, with no thought put into it at all,Shame really.......

Stunning value for money home-cooked food. Fresh vegetables - not frozen. The portions are HUGE. They offer a small and a large - go for the small, that'll be enough for most people, and if not, you can fill up on the excellent puddings.
The menu is straightforward, and the food is simple and wholesome. Full of flavour and not overcooked.
The service was warm and friendly with just the right amount of attention. We were not hassled, yet not ignored either.
This is a Brains pub, and they offered 4 casks - all served through a tight sparkler which is not to my taste. The beers ended up tasting like keg beer rather than cask.

The pub claims to be one of the oldest in the area - but we saw little of that as we sat in the family dining area - a rather modest room which serves the purpose of sitting people down for food, but lacks any atmosphere.

The pub area we only saw when we first entered, but it seemed charming enough. We sat outside after the meal as it was a sunny day, but the grass was uncut, and the view was of the car park, so that wasn't a wonderful experience.

In summary: The food here is great value and very tasty, with a warm and friendly service. The beers are served through a tight sparkler which ruins the flavour. The outside area offers no decent views. The dining room is dull. The pub itself appears to be OK. I'm giving a score of 6 - 1 point above average for the excellent value food.

We visited this pub while staying in the village on holiday and with some trepidation after reading the previous reviews. In fact we visited three times (evenings) during the week. On each occasion we both enjoyed excellent food, splendid service and couldn't really fault anything, except maybe the loos could do with some improvement. We also overheard other customers discussing how good they found the food. We can certainly recommend this place!

On a bank holiday weekend, the "family restaurant" was closed, and half the garden was also closed due to dangerous play equipment. If you sit outside you have to use plastic glasses. The food was expensive and reeked of the dead hand of Brake Brothers. Beer average. Complacency and lack of care pervaded. Not impressed.

Very busy pub--- in summer anyway. Food seems to be the most important factor and although we didn't eat the amount of wastage left on the tables outside would have fed a starving family for a year.Perhaps if it wasn't so busy the real ale MIGHT tempt me back.
