Hadn't been here for a while and was sorry to see the garden of old has all but disappeared. One of the draws of this place was the open space with views out across the fields. Garden is now more of a fenced in yard, more child friendly I suppose and it seems they are using the land behind for industrial storage. So first impressions were a little disappointing.
Food was good, actually the starter really was fantastic and the main was perfectly acceptable. The beer choice was okay with a couple on offer, served a little on the warm side for my taste and certainly pricey for the area. Place seemed a little unfriendly, not sure if this was the couple of regulars hanging around the bar who seemed to resent people trying to get served or the bar staff themselves. I can't say I'd rush back but then its a pub I've always gone to in the past for the garden and the outdoor area which, now its gone takes away the draw for me.

WOW- Fantastic. The food really was superb, and certainly warrants the Michelin Bib Gourmand that this place seems to keep getting awarded year on year. The fine dining Epicurean Restaurant alongside the Brasserie looks good- but not eaten there yet, but will do. Superb Wine List, but if you fancy something exotic ask to see the list from the Epicurean restaurant!! Young staff, but obviously very well trained- they are a credit to this business, and what appears to be a very 'hands-on' manager- called Richard we think, but seemingly in control of whats going on. Very highly recommended by us, try it!!

Expensive but we really enjoyed the food. The service was very quick. All in all very good. Would go back,

The food we had was excellent. the same night my friend and i went back for a evening of cocktails! which were gorgeous, and reasonably priced. (we're not posers, that was our local, thankyou jan)

Expensive and pretencious gastropub, but the food is nothing special. Popular with posers.
