Superb pub catering for locals and visitors alike. Well known locally for it's selection of pies, there are usually at least 4 to choose from and often more. Good choice of well kept real ale, friendly staff and also has a sideline in selling wholesale fruit, veg, meat, cheese and eggs all at very competitive prices. Well worth a visit but don't be disappointed if it's full by the time you get there!

Well, I do declare. The range of fresh food options available was intimidatingly expansive. The fresh fish especially. Staff were everywhere and willing to accommodate all options. The beer was good and the bar billiards capped it all. A fine family pub, reminiscent of establishments from my youth.

Beer was good. Food looked OK although I didn't try any. Bar staff were friendly and landlady has got quite a dry sense of humour.

Great atmosphere and good beer. The bears aren't as bad as Jumbina makes out.

Appologies about the spelling. I meant to spell good beer. There are no good bears in this pub.

I have been drinking in The Farmers for around 10 years and to be quite honest the pub has never been better. The new tenants, Lisa and Tony have turned this place around serving great bear and food in a pleasant and clean pub. With there first anniversary of taking over the pub approaching this year has seen the pub up for awards already with The Farmers either first or second place as the best Fullers pub in the country (yet to be confirmed). The days of the foul mouthed punters are long gone so ignore this comment. Pop in and see for yourself.

Went to the Boy on Saturday as have been told of new owners.... WOW what a change, place looks great landlord happy and a real character ( Short and bold but very big ) Fire was on and had a real buzz, went for a quick pint ended up staying for dinner as menu was as excellent as the BEER . Believe it or not I had Lamb and Black pudding Burger and today I want it again, home made with salad and non greasy chips on a big plate , the wife had Pan fried Salmon on rocket Mash with French beans. All seasoned and cooked very well but also loads of traditional stuff on the menu as well. As Im a bit of a local so it is great to see the Boy taken seriously and good luck to them so long as they keep it that way and not become a trendy non pub I will be going back on a regular basis.

This should be a pleasant old pub, serving good Fullers.

However my last visit was wrecked by foul-mouthed customers and cloudy beer.

So, bye bye Boy.
