Lovely traditional pub in every respect - even the old lanterns and flower baskets hanging outside. The list of 'events' makes you laugh, e.g. a day trip to Brighton, just like the 'jolly boys' outings in Only Fools And Horses! All the advantages of a locals' pub (old guys sitting on every bar stool and no-one at the tables) but none of the disadvantages, i.e. everyone's friendly.

A real locals pub this one with patrons who support their local football team which just happens to be around the corner. A nice atmosphere with some old style wall decorations and even a snug hidden behind the bar. Good pint of Pride and clean toilets that do not smell; always a bonus. The only downside being that they did not sell food on a Saturday.

Looks like a fairly large pub from the outside. But inside it is really quite compact. Pride, Seafarers & ESB were the 3 Fullers ales on last night. A group of locals were stodd around the bar. Otherwise, it was reasonably quiet. The interior is fairly pleasant. But I couldn't find anything of note to recommend here. The wasn't even any evidence of the previous reviewer's sighting!

Close to the town's football and cricket grounds is The Coach and Horses, a cosy and comfortable smallish Fullers tied house in a residential area of Chertsey.
As you approach the pub, at the foot of St Ann's Hill, a sandwich board welcomes you with the message - "Claire would like to welcome you to The Coach and Horses". People, not just pub anoraks like me, do notice small things like this.
An attractive hanging tiled exterior leads into a pleasant, but somewhat unremarkable, traditional single bar pub with a number of nooks and crannies breaking up the floor space.
It advertises accommodation - � 68 for a double room - but this is a pub with rooms, not a hotel. It is however noticeably cheaper than that nearby bistro / wine bar place - Windsors - that featured on the TV programme, The Hotel Inspector, several weeks ago.
On my recent Saturday afternoon visit, despite the warm welcome promise, the pub was very quiet. The London Pride - � 3.20p - was reasonable. The pub is a CAMRA Good Beer Guide regular.
This is a comfortable, welcoming, seemingly well run pub in a town where options appear distinctly limited

Quite a nice pub. Came in on a Sunday evening and it was very quiet. Perfectly good London Pride. Apparently there's accommodation and they occasionally do food but not regularly.

I did not feel 3.35 for a pint of ESB was especially cheap, but the beer was good. Fairly quiet, was a Sunday evening however. Interesting mixture of music in the background too.

Nice pub at the end of a thames walk from Windsor. Friendly locals, good condition Fullers ales and relatively cheap too.

Popped in for a quick pint after a long walk (having never been to this pub before). Stayed for 4. London Pride was dreamy, probably the best 'Pride' in many years - proper measure too, something that is increasingly rare as pints become 'metric' with ever deeper heads designed to deepen the brewery or pubco pockets. Pretty friendly too, with locals quite chatty as was the barman. I think a pub can be as friendly as you want it to be.

Pros: beer is first rate. Never had a duff pint of fullers in there. On Sunday there are warm nibbles on the bar (roast potatoes, sausages etc) which I find rather charming. The short guy on the bar is very good. You can walk in there months after your previous visit and he'll know what you want.
Cons: a bit 'I spy strangers' from the regulars. I used this pub for nearly three months on the way home from work, and nobody said anything to me. Mind you they don�t say much to each other. I'm including the actual landlord in that!!
Good beer, but if you want some atmosphere, try the cemetery round the corner.

Three Fullers handpulls (Pride, ESB and Chiswick) which were in good nick. Pub itself was a bit devoid of atmosphere and a bit sterile for my liking and was almost deserted compared to the Crown.

Very nice welcome and a good pint or two of ESB. Food simple but effective!
