I may have been a bit harsh with my previous comments. New owner seems to be making an effort. Marstons Pedigree and Spitfire now on offer at 1.60 a pint before 6pm. Acoustic evenings and other entertainment on most evenings. Sunday lunch at 4.90,as yet untried. A pub thats on the up.

This up and coming hot-spot for music lovers appears to be closed. Again

Since the last review the pub has changed hands and is now giving the other town clubs a run for their money. The beer is good the decor is good and the music is the best in the town playing R&B on Friday nights and the best in House, Techno & mash-up for miles around. Watch out for this up and coming hotspot for music lovers

Message from the new tenant:

"We have been closed for around 2 months, whilst we have undertaken an extensive refurbishment of the bar and dance areas. We will re-open on Monday 30th May. We have updated the selection of beers on tap, which now include Stella, Guiness, Strongbow, Worthingtons and Carling. There will be party nights every Friday, with the chance to win prizes and VK freebies."

One particular member of staff called Charlotte Ball offered very good bar service. Thankyou and I enjoyed my evening.

This pub is mainly frequented by young groups of people. It used to be a rockers pub but it has been taken over by the dance fraternity. There is one pool table, plenty of bottled bears and alcopops behind the bar (catering for young people), not a great selection of beers on tap. Music is usually dance music played loud.
