Tried this pub for Sunday lunch and were pleasantly surprised, given previous comments here :)
Pub was clean and tidy, staff attentive & friendly. Had a pint of Spitfire and a couple of pints of Black Sheep Bitter, all excellent quality. The Sunday lunch menu although not that exciting, (a couple of roasts, baked salmon, or risotto) was reasonably priced at 7.95 for 2 courses. Portions not huge but perfectly adequate, nicely cooked and served quickly.

I Have inside knowledge on this dump
I have watched the landlord use the toilets both for a number 1 and 2 and not wash his hands - and immediately serve customers..... DISGUSTING

There is a gross lack of care and hygene behind the scenes, and i would NEVER EVER Drink or eat here - even if it was for free.

The landlord is rude and dirty.

Avoid

the very fat couple were not sacked ! they left to get away from the richard head boss mr rothery who has subsiquently had all his pubs taken off him by punch taverns and the bailiffs . good luck to phil and wendy who are now running it

It's open again and has actually been bought by a local chap. Food cooked to order and guest ales means this has got to be worth a try.
