Always seems busy as its handily placed for Clientele to sign on at Kings Heath Jobcentre . Only draft beer that looked safe to drink is the Carlsburg

OPened the door saw that there was not one single real ale available on any of the pumps so left! End of story.

Crap. Beer slop. Noisy, full of drunks, dirty pub, seems as though a fight is waiting to happen never go there again

Every hamlet needs a pub like this one. Beer tuppence a bucket, the regulars all know each other and are probably related, tattoed women draped over the doormen, bar staff who tell unruly punters to shut up and sit down, sly looks from regulars who don`t like `townies`, walking fashion show from T K Max, and so on and so forth. Why knock it when it performs such a useful purpose to the community....you`d only be mortified if they all turned up at YOUR pub!

One of those places where you have to keep an eye on your pint at all times, otherwise it may go awol. Prices are lower than the Wetherspoons just down the road, and the clientele reflect that fact. Also has a few bouncers on the door but doesn't seem to employ a cleaner.

unless you are a terminally alcoholic chav you'd probably best avoid this place like the plague...

Probably the worst pub in Kings Heath. A poor example of a terrible chain. Dirty, smelly, terrible sellection of drinks, terrible quallity drinks, mediocre service & a bad atmosphere (unless if you like drunk chavs). Food is available but would you want to eat in here? All the down & outs who used to drink in the Hare & Hounds, The Station and the Goose in Moseley now drink in this pub.

I think its a dump but haven't seen the recent refurb so I'll withhold judgement. But it is a dump

I worked in this pub in 1997-98 when I was a student and with Keith and Niall managing the atmosphere was superb, the bar was always packed and even local police officers would say they couldn't believe what the staff achieved to turn the Cross Guns (a number of angry guns would show themselves up on Friday and Saturday nights) into a sensible decent place to have a drink and a meal. Things obviously aren't the same since Keith and Niall moved on.

Was this place once The Gun Barrells? If so then what a crying shame !!
I had many a pissed nights in the GB, however if you were tall, well built and in any of the forces or police the irish contingent who frequented the GB in those days made sure you were not welcome, as I discovered !!

poor standards of cleanliness - they replace dirty ashtrays with even dirtier ones! staff appear incompetent. the dregs of ex-customers from the nearby pubs seem to end up in here. best avoided.

whilst this pub is reasonable in its prices, it lacks in all other departments, and from what i have seen in the evening it is best avoided after 9. this is one of those pubs that seems to have bouncers for a reason.

A pub for young people to play up in!

This place is the best pub ever. The prices are unbeatable and if you want cheap drinks before you go somewhere half decent in town go here, me and my mates often try to do the board hanging up around the bar with spirits for ridiculous prices. The pub has a fine blend of no atmosphere and old drunk men who have no idea where they are and will spout pointless comments to you if you stand next to them at the bar. The best thing aboout this place is the best kebab in Birmingham at Hi Tide a few doors down the road where you will be greeted by two friendly men who graduated at the top of their class in customer service.
