We didn't expect much from this J D Wetherspoons pub but were pleasantly surprised. Lovely interior and certainly cannot accuse them of poor choice or overcharging. Well done. You've swayed me.

Great terrace garden to sit outside but inside its pretty dire.

It's a Wetherspoon so you know what you are going to get (the McDonalds of pubs), it ok but there are a lot better options in a town packed with pubs.

Absolutely dreadful !! Beer is not at all bad, but this place is a boil that needs lancing. Would not return if it was the last pub in town apart from to have an early morning breakfast which is pretty dammed good.

OK Spoons, I tried the Sheps Fireston Walker Red Nectar which was in good condition. They also had a Wantsum beer but there were a few with the ubiquitous available soon labels. Decent outside area for a Spoons.

While it's difficult to pinpoint what exactly is wrong with The Leading Light, there is definitely something amis.

My partner and myself have visited this Wetherspoons in Faversham on a number of occasions, but it's never really satisfied. The place is clean, the staff are ok and the range of beers on offer are normally both varied and cheap. However, the pub lacks a pleasing atmosphere and the little it does have is somewhat spoilt by the less desirable and chavvy members of Faversham's community.

On the plus side, we were pleased to try the Beau Porter from the Tunbridge Wells Brewery (4.8%) - spot on and very tasty.

And now also stocking ales from the Royal Tunbridge Wells Brewery

We are now having a minimum of 5 ales on at any time, including a focus on Locally produced Ale such as Hopdaemon, Whitstable Brewery and Wantsum Brewery. We also stock a wide selection of Adnams Ales plus an ever changing range of nationally sourced Ale. We are also stocking a good extensive range of Ciders including locally produced ones.

Went here prior to a tour around the Shepherd Neames brewery.
Had the traditional breakfast which was very nice and good value. The staff were friendly and polite.
Went back in the afternoon and had a few of the ales. All very nice and cheap. The beer garden is pleasant although it was half-term so a few kids.
Unlike most Spoons pubs the toilets are on the same level which is a bonus.
All in all a pleasant experience.

Just come back from a fab office party here.
Staff superb as always- nice and helpful and with four guest ales on plus Abbot and the usual Ruddles, we had lots of choice.
Great grub too and at a very reasonable price
A pub that goes from strength to strength

i really like this pub, i am a regular user and have just had a great breakfast and a nice pint of cask conditioned lager for less than a fiver! Sweet! Staff are friendly and always willing to help.

Recently refurbed but soon reverted back to a dive.
Good place for a fight at the weekend other than that very little going for it.

Went there and was amazed at the amount of chavs hanging around

One of the three most popular places in town for a punch up.
Unfortunately the police imposed closing time of 11 pm has forced most other pubs in town also closing at that time to avoided being invaded by drunk and drugged customers from here over running them.

Part of The Weatherspoon chain. This is my first visit in 18 months and how it has changed. It looks to have had a revamp inside, both with staff and decor.
Much improved from my last visit where people were fighting all the time. It seems alot of the idiots have gone (or have been barred).
My husband was well impressed with the beer- 4 guest ales plus Courage, Spitfire, Pedigree and Abbot to choose from and really reasonably priced.
The young lady behind the bar was very bubbly and chatty and made us feel very welcome.
Went back the next day and was again made to feel welcome and comfortable
One of the best Weatherspoon pubs

A lovely bar, set in an old town. Freindly, knowledgeable staff, a good selection of ales,

Recently re-opened after refurbishment, but weak management allows children to run all over the pub, the air is blue with smoke and bad language, still the beer is usually good and cheaper than other pubs in the area.

Yesterday (Nov 28th) was my first ever visit to Faversham and the last place I expected to see amongst the cobbled streets, little shops and traditional pubs was a member of the Wetherspoons chain! Nevertheless, I decided to pop in The Leading Light and have to say that I think its probably one of the best Spoons I have ever been in. Its smart, welcoming and light and airy. There was a scattering of the usual midday Spoons brigade huddled amongst each other, but even they seemed to be a cut above the norm. These pubs are often off putting, but if ever passing through, I cant think of a reason not to visit. 7/10
