i went to this pub with the family last week. half term.............. to my surprise i found it rather better than i had thought sat in the sun overlooking the water. only 4 ale pumps, however the ales they had on were cracking! the hobgoblin went down a treat, the misses was happy with her pimms. i look forward to going again actually.

Pretty horrible. Usual collection of bland beer, disinterested bar staff (I had one who was texting while pulling my pint), deep fried food and miserable looking overweight families. Next time I go to the cinema here, I'll neck a pint of bitter in my lavatory. It'll be a more pleasant drinking experience.

ignore most of what is said in these comments. i have been using this pub now for around 2 months, the service is great! they do get extremly busy at times but the staff are always smiling and make you feel welcome. the managers i have seen working here have been great and have a great knowledge for the beers they serve. not sure what went on before to warrant the previous comments, but on every visit ive had its been all good. they certainly must of got there act together.

End up here more regularly than I would like as it is in a decent location. Service is always a little slow/ terrible.
My family book a section for two celebrations there last year and on both occasions the management got it entirly wrong/ did nothing at all in tersm of reserving an area.
it is cheap and has a good selection of drinks, but is not somewhere i ever really look forward to visiting.

Cheap with good value food but takes forever to get served as far too few staff.

Went in this pub today, have used it lots in the past, but it's definately getting worse. Service is absolutely terrible. One person serving at the bar, which had at least 10 people waiting. Tried to order lunch at 11.50 am, but was told we could only have breakfast until 12. By the time we got round to ordering breakfast, it was 12.00, but still took our breakfast order. Waited 20 mins for it to arrive, now 12.20, how long did the people who had now ordered lunch, have to wait? The order was incorrect, so had to send it back. The staff are very uninterested, and actually told me that I had ordered incorrectly, which I definately had not !! Terrible, and will not be going back.

Good choice of beers, mostly well kept. Food of good quality (shoulder of lamb, mashed potatoes and brocolli) and reasonably priced. Staffing is the big problem. The bar and waiting staff are too hard-pressed to deal with the number of customers. Consequently they come across as harrassed and disinterested, as they move from one customer to the next.

After mouthing off 4 of the bouncers threw me out, I was unimpressed and challenged them....at which point they proceeded to wrestle me to the ground and sat on me for 40 mins until I was dead....not even a coutesy beer while I waited for the ambulance

After last visit went back with some workmates. Food was a bit hit and miss as half the stuff on the menu was no longer available. Still reasonable value.

Service was ok the evening we went there. As with all Spoony's it serves great value food and drink.

Great prices, and it WILL be the cheapest night out you've ever had - this is purely because you have to wait at least 20 minutes (often more like 40) to get served. When you do get served, the bar staff are extremely rude, and seem to think they are doing you a favour. Worth visiting now, as they are clearly going to put themselves out of business.

Typical wetherspoon bland chain pub stale beer although i never got any this time as i waited 20 minutes and was totally ignored as there were not enough staff which is bloody stupid on a saturday night.
This pub is typical chain pub you get what you pay for
