please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

Great building and characterful interior with great views out over the front. Food served midweek is rather poor though - seemingly supplied by a vast industrial caterer for warming up, decoration and serving at the pub. You get a lot on your plate but I didn't come close to finishing it (unusual for a mean slob like me).

Not sure how this got into the Good Beer Guide as (a) there was only 1 beer on when we visited and (b) it was like a children's room with adults being allowed in for a drink! You could hardly see the handpumps for themassive keg fonts on the bar.
Some nice old Victorian touches and you could see what this must have been like in its heyday. But tatty seating; screaming kids and lacklustre staff made for an unpleasant visit. (Sunday lunch on the menu but my wife's coffee was a mug of Nescafe from the kitchen!)

Disappointed by this one. Arrived about 12:30 on a Saturday afternoon there were four young girls worling and one local. There was Twaites Wainswrights and Tetley Bitter on. Ordered two Wainwrights but the barrel needed changing so the owners would have to be called down from upstairs. About 15 minutes later she told us the pipes were being cleaned. We left and went to the exceptionally good Strawberry Gardens instead.
Good sized pub and the staff were friendly but didn't know what they were doing. I don't think the owners knew what they were doing either cleaning the pipes in the middle of their Saturday lunchtime session!

Nice enough big old hotel bar, maybe a little shabby in places. Friendly enough, although when I called on Saturday lunchtime there seemed to be more staff than customers. 3 handpumps, and I enjoyed a well-kept pint of Wainwright's. Overall though, I preferred the Strawberry Gardens which is a 10-minute walk away.

Friendly, large pub with good quality ales, although they are a bit unadventurous.

Called in before we went into the Beer Festival for a pint and a meal. The new Manager seemed to be keen an we were there for their first night serving food, which was reasonable enough, though my Chilli con Carne was incredibly spicy and I can certainly normally eat them on the hot side. The beers are on the safe side, but were drinkable. Reasonable.

Called in the Mount following the Fleetwood beer festival today as it is in the Good Beer Guide, and the chap behind the bar said he had not been running it long as it had been closed for about 6 weeks. There were 3 real ales on and the food menu looked reasonable. Greene King Moreland Old Speckled Hen, Adnams Broadside and Wells Bombarddier on, and we chose the Adnams which was in good condition. Staff friendly enough. Should get some custom from the festibval.

After a fabulous New Years Eve with "The Blue Pig Orchestra", the landlord cried enough and left on the 4th January 2010, after the owners reluctance to assist him keep the pub profitable. The place is now shut. Why can't these pub owners see that it is better to have a place open making a little profit than have them shut and making none at all. All the best to John and Lynne for their future.

John and Lynn have improved this pub tremendously. They are friendly and the place is kept well with the beer always spot on. Adnams is the resident cask with two guests that change every Thurs-Sunday. They had a well supported band night on 7th Nov and there was a real buzz once the place was busy. They are hoping for the same band/group, (the very talented Blue Pig Orchestra), to play on New Years Eve after the general 'feel good' factor that a good crowd brought to the place. The overheads on this place must be very large and it deserves to be better frequented.

Called in on Saturday after visiting the beer festival for something to eat and to watch the Utd/Blackburn game. It's a massive pub with two huge ornate rooms and several smaller ones which must take a lot of upkeep. It used to be a hotel but the top two floors are no longer in use. The pub has been slowly improving over the last 2 years and the food is perfectly adequate quality wise and the portions are generous. Has 3 handpumps selling Adnams Bitter, Cains Bitter and another beer that didn't really register with me as it wasn't very interesting. The Adnams & Cains were perfectly well kept and the service was efficient. Like I said before, this place is improving. Well worth a visit.

New landlord is now in residence and deserves support as he is trying to turn the pub around. He is a real ale enthusiast and has Boddingtons, (which the pub has always had), plus two others which he keeps really well. Realistically this is all he can justify at the moment, but he hopes to obtain the Cask Marque as soon practicable. The place is cleaner and he plans to re-decorate the 'sports bar' in the new year.
He is very approachable and this is his first pub, so all credit to him for taking on such a large property. His dream would be to open the vaults again!

Very poor service by staff who look like they'd rather be serving in Iraq than behind a bar.

Probably my least favourite pub in fleetwood, it just doesn't seem to have an atmosphere at all apart from during the Fylde Folk Festival when it's full of huge bearded people, and then there's the male folkies.
