The Old Dairy, Finsbury Park

Not the greatest pub in the world - but this cavernous pub is well worth a visit if you are in the Finsbury Park area. Plenty of tables and seating areas and a pretty decent food offering. Whilst also offering the dreaded 'big-screen TV' the Old Maids layout makes this easily avoidable and unobtrusive to those preferring a quite drink or meal.

The Old Maid has regularly changing guest ales in addition to a few perrenial favorites (Old Peculiar etc). On a recent pre-Christmas visit the guest ales included a rather nice Mulled Ale from the Morrissey Fox Brewery - served in a proper old-school beer glass.

One point to note is that the licensee definitely seems to have taken some of the previous comments on here (and maybe elsewhere?) to heart and takes almost obsessive care in ensuring that all real ale pints are properly poured and served in full measure. From observation I think they might also have started a policy whereby inexperienced junior staff pass this job off to their colleagues to ensure quality of delivery.
