Having drunk at Beckets on a regular basis for the last 16 years, I can say that the only time the present landlady has been rude to customers is when it has been richly deserved. Inappropriate behaviour is not tolerated at Beckets and never has been.
The previous landlady, on the other hand, was often virtually incapable of serving customers due to her regular "quality control" tests on the stock.
John, the landlord, tries very hard to keep up his profile as "the grumpiest landlord in the south-west" He's succeeding :-)
