Whispering Moon, Wallington

Large and impersonal. FAr too many smokers at the door to battle through. If you survive this first encounter, you next have to wait whilst the staff finish THEIR conversations before being interrupted by a tiresome customer.
Beer was pretty good, but the atmosphere was almost non existent and there were some pretty unsavoury “REGULARS.” There was also some very strange “THINGS” happening below tables as items seemed to be passed from one to another...........perhaps I’m just getting too old.
All in all, NOT a pub that JDW should be that proud of.....there is plenty of room for improvement and the staff need a crash course in making a customer feel wanted.

Foxley Hatch, Purley

If you are looking for a small pub with a good selection of GOOD ale and SPIRITS....LOOK NO FURTHER.
the staff are predominately young and cheerful, polite and able to banter if required. The cleanliness is of a good standard and it has a friendly atmosphere. Yes, there are the usual “Wetherspoon style regulars” but they are far fewer than some of the places I have visited. This is a well run and welcoming pub, that is often overlooked.....long may that be the case.....it’s good to keep some good things to yourself!!
Well done Foxley......keep it up.
