The Woodman, Battersea

Having just moved to the area, I have no idea what the 'old Woodman' was like, but I do feel that there should always be room for a pool table. However, as it stands, and given that I generally prefer old boozers, I actually quite liked it. Beer was good, staff decent, didn't need to get out of my chair as the beer was brought over. Food looked good, although not up to top quality, according to a couple of the sloaney cheek kissers in the corner. I thought quite a good balance. I agree with an earlier comment in that it is a pub trying to do decent food, and not a gastropub. Oh, and one of Take That was in with his dog. Very Northern.
