The Lethbridge Arms, Bishops Lydeard

I have visited several times during the last few months and have on each occasion found The Lethbridge Arms to be excellent. The landlady and her staff are lively, good natured and full of banter. Food was excellent, I had the steak and ale pie, which was made with local produce and made for a good hearty meal.

I usually stay with friends in the area, however on the latest occasion I took a room at the Inn, and was very pleased with my accommodations, and delighted with the English breakfast that followed in the morning.

I have not yet had the good fortune to visit on a Monday, however I do intend to as it is apparently skittles night. I understand the pub boasts Somerset's longest skittles alley at around 100 feet! I saw it from the outside and it looked pretty long, I wonder whether people's scores tend to drop as it gets later into the evening. The tawny ale I drink is always very well kept.

Overall an excellent pub with lots going for it, thoroughly recommended.
