The Pineapple closed a couple of years ago, the building is now a Thai restaurant.

Four in Hand, Keswick

Bar staff seemed a little disinterested and I would describe the decor as "having seen better days" rather than grubby. These are the bad points.

On the up-side, the beer was very good, Jennings beers plus excellent Black Sheep. The food was also good, particularly the pies which were homemade (or if not, very good imitations of homemade). Chicken goujon starter was average but the main courses and deserts were very good and generous portions too.

Mill Inn, Mungrisdale

Had lunch here after a morning's walking on the nearby fells and it was superb. The homemade pies were absolutely delicious.......and you can buy them to take home too!!

Jennings beers were very good. Staff were friendly and service was good.

It was fairly busy on a weekday lunchtime.

Would highly recommend.
