The Robin Hood and Little John, Lambley

I have been here on numerous occasions and always enjoy it. They have a restaurant on one side of the pub and a bar on the other so you can eat without the noise from the bar side which you can hear in some village pubs.
The food is home made or locally sourced so there's no Wetherspoons rubbish! The prices are good as they have a 2 meals for 10 (or similar) deal on so you can have a cheaper night out.
They have a guest beer on most of the time as well which is a bonus. Oh and they have a vegetarian option on the evening menu and on the sunday lunches which is good for my veggy friend!
Pub always looks really pretty in the summer with all the flowers outside.

The Plainsman, Mapperley

I went to this pub with a few friends for something to eat near Christmas time. Never been here before but found it very pleasant and bar staff were friendly. Food was pretty good to say how cheap our meal was as well!

The other people in the pub seemed to be mostly family groups or older groups. Didn't notice any 'thugs' or 'drug users' unless they were in disguise as pensioners! There were a couple of builder men at the bar who looked like they were in for a pint or two after work (are builders now categorised as thugs?).

All in all I would definately go back here again.
