Not a big Pub drinker but a like a good pint especially cask ales.
I am a fan of places that have decent selection of wines and the folks there know what they are talking about in respect of these.
Where food is concerned I am not after a cheap option but good value and food cooked to order. A lot of places get this right and some do not! No excuse.

The Railway Inn, Botley
I attended this Pub recently for dinner accompanied by a group of several friends and their wives.
Service was prompt and friendly and the food freshly prepared and while not in the very top echilon was quite satisfactory and raised no negative comments from anyone. Quite happy to visit again. Compared with the vast majority of premises it fared well.
