The Tankerville Arms, Eglingham

Friendly staff, good atmosphere, nice locals. Didn't have beer but the wine was fine. But.....the food. We had the special - sea bass fillet with pommes dauphinoise. Both looked and tasted as if they were pre-cooked and then heated up for us. Dried out and horrible. The little dish of mixed veg was as bad, except it was overcooked. We did wonder why we were the only people eating there on a Friday night when it had a substantial dining room. Such a pity - nice pub, great location but dreadful food.
